I think this is my favourite hockey fight of all time. Iginla is certainly my favourite player of all time and this clip gives me goosebumps remembering how much of a monster he was. That last body shot and the slow kneeing submission… ####ing awesome.
He was a beast. Slow knee submission is right. Like Guerin knew he’d been soundly defeated and iginla was in a position to just keep busting up his kidneys/ribs so he just drops the knee.
Was that the fight where Iggy immediately went over and wanted to fight Guerin but Guerin said that he was kind of tired so Iggy gave him about 20 seconds of time to catch his breath until they fought? They certainly started discussing it well before they actually dropped the gloves and I think this might be where that story comes from.
Or maybe I just made the whole thing up.

Ya Massachusetts is far left. With all the stereotype and jokes they are dopes they are wicked smart . All those colleges, almost in practice universal health care etc . There are pockets of support he has in central and western MA but I doubt many will go to Boston for a hockey game.

There was an interview with Sullivan the other day where a reporter asked if he was injured two days ago (Canada game) why was he just being admitted to the hospital now. Sullivan got indignant saying “you’re making an assumption on when the injury occurred” and when asked to provide more details gave a flat “no.”
Turns out it was during the Finland game, they gave him poor treatment, and played him in the Canada game anyway.
What an absolute farce the staff on that team is.

An interesting wrinkle in all of this is that the Boston GM is Sweeney, who is also the GM of the Canadian team, and his team's medical staff just removed one of the US top d-men before a final between Canada and the US.
I'm sure there was some fun discussion between Sweeney and Guerin and the US medical staff.
Would be hilarious if he showed up, got brutally and loudly booed by all the fans, leaves the game early because he’s getting harassed by the fans constantly and team USA ends up losing. Come on Boston… give him the reception he deserves - constant berating and hate.
