Was at a Flames game in Vegas once, and the people to my right were wearing Rider jerseys and the people to my left were wearing Oiler jerseys.

Last night, on Johnny tribute night, a guy is walking down the concourse during intermission, yelling, 'let's go Oilers'

Special, special people.

Oiler fans. Not even once.

I saw a Leafs Marner jersey last night.

A guy sitting behind me says "is that Bahl, on the PP?"

LITERALLY one second later, the puck is on his stick and he scores. So much poetry last night.

(also, having 2 defensemen on the PP, when you are up 1-0 with 3 minutes left, is good coaching, IMO)

That may as well have been me as I said the exact same thing to myself at home and same deal. Scored a second later lol.

Bahl seems to have a good hard shot so there's that. Though I'm sure he was there fore defensive purposes.

All I had seen from Bahl of late was his ability to throw the puck in the corner or miss tip opportunities entirely or miss the net entirely. And then he goes and does that. I'm always up to eating crow on players. Good stuff.

Yes, Bahl has little offense in his game at this point - he is a defensive defenseman. But he is also 24. Think about a guy like Tanev, I mean he has never been an offensive dynamo, but if you practice and play with NHLers every day, you improve your skills. Bahl will get better. He will learn how to make better breakout passes, and he will learn how to get shots to the net effectively.

Again, the guy is 24, and he is already very good defensively. He is going to be a REALLY good partner for an offensive Dman, just like Tanev is, or Hronek with Hughes.

The guy was an absolute steal on Conroy's part.
