Good game Columbia and Brazil. Nice free kick from Brazil,
I heard earlier that the WC will have 5 yard wider fields than this tournament.
There's not a lot of room on the sidelines in these NFL stadiums in these games already. Santa Clara tonight and KC last night...another 5 yards will leave it super tight, though I assume some seats will have to go?

Brazil playing with two midfielders who can’t dribble and Paqueta whose a complete head case given he may be banned from the sport in a couple months (embarrassing that he still starts). Colombias midfield made up of two guys from the Brazilian league is completely dominating Brazil’s midfield. Hopefully this new coach brings on Luiz or Andreas or I think Colombia is going to grab another goal.
Nice goal to start the game but Colombia has been much better

Embarrassing half, embarrassing coach, and an embarrassment of a team. Horrible substitutes, no team cohesion, looks like they never have practiced together. No plan except pass to the wingers. Uruguay will win by 2 plus goals. Worst Brazil team I think I have ever seen.

Is Brazil no longer a soccer giant? Almost feels like they're an also-ran at many of these larger tournaments. I know Neymar is hurt, but long gone are the days of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Carlos, Romario, and Alves. Names that would roll off the tongues when listing the games greats.
Is Endrick going to hit that level? It kinda saddens me as I growing up I would always play as Brazil in FIFA. One of my favorite sporting moments was them winning the World Cup in 2002.

Brazil is top 10 team but they have not been a powerhouse for some time. The teams from 2014-2022 were all very Neymar dependent but even most of those teams had much more experience and quality with the likes of Dani Alves, Casemiro, Thiago Silva, Marcelo (even tho he was not great for the NT). Obviously not nearly as good as the teams from the 1994-2002 era but still not horrible, but very sub par for Brazil standards.
Something that has carried over from the Brazil of the 2010’s is a very uncreative overly defensive midfield. Brazil often uses two defensive midfielders which was more effective when Neymar would drop in. Not to mention when one of the midfielders was prime Casemiro, who was excellent at breaking down a press. The midfielders Brazil are using now are not nearly as good as other top teams.
Brazil for the last 3 decades has produced some of the best full backs in the world and that well has now also seem to run dry. Seeing Brazil use Wendell and Danilo is pretty remarkable.
Forward wise the team has a lot of talent, all of the forwards play for big teams, but none of them have any sort of track record of producing for Brazil. Also no transcendent talent like Neymar. Vini is obviously very good but Neymar was a different sort of level and even the Neymar led teams struggled in tournaments. Endrick is very promising but the fact that the only true striker brazil have is 17 is pretty ridiculous.
The Brazilian federation is also just very arrogant and refuses to change. Brazil could hire a much more competent manager from Europe but arrogance does not allow them too. Tite was decent but even he had some major #### ups. They could change this tomorrow but like I said very arrogant.
Brazil could get back to the level of the past but for the foreseeable future most likely a dysfunctional mess.

Both teams not holding back on tackles. Ecuador seems up for the game. Argentina been a second half team but Ecuador showing some danger on the counter with Paez and Caicedo

No idea why Ecuador went with Valencia for that PK. Paez has already scored one this tournament and has a great shot. Maybe Valencia pulled rank to take it
Valencia is their all time leading goal scorer so I mean I guess it makes sense to let him but has been horrible this tournament
Argentina just going though the motions this half but the penalty awarded was of course another horrible decision. What a complete farce the refereeing has been. Embarrassing

Why does it go to PKs right away?
And why there are commercials between the end of the game and penalties?
