Francis was on 960 and said Tre has permission to talk to teams but he can't be part of the draft process. So maybe Seravelli and Friedman's list is off. Who knows what is true and what is not true. There is no point in getting upset over a list.

Honestly, I like Bergevin, dudes a trigger happy cowboy. For a Francophone it's highly entertaining. Plus he has that Vince McMahon swagger and he's all super gym swoll. I don't think Bergevin would be terrible, just doesn't fit the MO Maloney put out.

If they aren't rebuilding he might be the most likely to make a few wild trades and get this team on a run.

Nonis has been a dud everywhere he's gone. I can't think of anything notable he has done other than maybe tread water. Just looked up his trade history, hard flipping no on Nonis. His trade history was worse than I remembered.

Ignoring (if you can) Bowman's involvement in the Beach incident, Nonis is objectively the worst candidate of these listed. The man is a door knob.

IMO, Nonis is the tear down patsy. If he is hired, it's a two year tear down.

Out of that list Dave Nonis is just strange. Is he even working?

Might be the idea, put out a not-so-appealing list so people openly accept Conroy as the hire

If the Flames hire Bergevin, they NEED an amazing capoligist to keep the rudder straight on his dealings
Otherwise, I think his teams have pretty much come put ahead on every trade he's made. I've looked, not a really bad one on the books.

Nonis was heavily involved in the core that the Canucks had that went to the 2011 finals and back to back presidents trophies.
Sedins, Kesler, Burrows, Luongo, Bieksa were all pieces on Nonis' resume.
The Luongo trade especially was a fine piece of business.
Heavily rumored to have turned down a massive Brad Richards trade that would have crippled the franchise(Kesler and multiple picks). Lost his job because of it.
Nonis gets a bad rap.
He's not my choice for the role but the pitchforks out for him as any kind of serious contender is unfair in my eyes. We have no idea what was said in his interview. He might have impressed.

According to Wikipedia, he was AGM in Anaheim from 2019 until Feb 2022 when he was fired
Got some good results in Anaheim for sure.

Thinking the young GMs were saying things in the interview that ownership simply didn't want to hear.
