I don't see why Chara would lie about something like that on some random podcast years after the fact, so I believe that he thinks it happened. I would believe that it didn't actually happen and was maybe a locker room story to motivate the team, but Bieksa dost protest too much, me thinks.

Bieksa is wrong about not needing fuel in the playoffs. Sure, every player is giving it 100%, but 100% and competitive is very different than 100% and pissed off. Iginla is a perfect example.
