So why has the NHL allowed them to keep Martinez on LTIR? The guy was ready to go a month ago. This bending the rules crap is bs.

Standard operating procedure when guys come back - they practice and skate for a period of time.
But your views on this are clear and I have no interest in going back and forth with you any further.

FYI...
If Martinez is ready, all they have to do is switch Patches from IR to LTIR and they're good. or Lehner.
I know you want Vegas to fry, but let's try to keep it level

This is your supposition, not a fact
I expect that the threshold for return is "100% healthy," and that virtually every NHL doctor outside of Edmonton sets a very high bar to meet it. We are so accustomed to seeing players play through injuries that while it appears to us that a player is "fit to play," I have no doubt that doctors see things quite differently.

Hard to care much when you're constantly going after the next big fish without any concern for the salary cap or the guys who got you to where you're at.

To be put on LTIR you have to miss 24 days or a certain amount of games. Has either of those players hit that threshold? I also noticed on an injury report that Martinez is in covid protocol, so once he clears that he probably has to be activated.

You don't have to have already hit the threshhold to be put on LTIR, it is simply that the minimum amount of time that you are on it is that.
Lehner is expected to be out for the rest of the season, potentially.
I don't know what Pacioretty's status is (because, unlike Dissentowner, I am not on the team medical staff)

I suspect they will move Lehner to LTIR soon. I don't know see how they get Stone active.

After how they treated Marc Andre Fleury (probably one of the classiest players in the NHL let alone Golden Knight), I'm not sure why any player would choose to go there until the entire management team is replaced.

For a cut on the face? Come on man.
He actually started practicing in January but got covid so was off for a bit until February

Poor Dadonov. Weekends in Vegas are better than weekends in Anaheim.

Lehner covers Martinez.
Stone is the bigger problem. If Pacioretty isn't out long enough to go LTIR, they have to move people - which was what they were trying to do with Dadonov. They need to find a way to move him, and then also move Marchessault, Karlsson or Smith.

Lehner's last game was March 8 and Pacioretty's was March 11. So, they're both getting close to the 10 game/24 day threshold. However, they can be put on LTIR so long as they're expected to be out that long. They don't actually have to wait until the player has missed those games. I don't know the extent of their injuries or if they're expected to miss that much time (although, the last I heard, Lehner's supposed to be done for the regular season at least -- I don't know if that's changed since they didn't get a new goalie at the deadline).
Martinez is a tough case. It sounded like he was ready to return around the All-Star Game. He had COVID in early January, so he should be clear of that by now. In November, he took a skate to face and was cut pretty badly (video here: https://twitter.com/jessegranger_/st...99991607902213 -- nothing graphic). It sounds like he has also been dealing with a head injury in addition to the cut. If it's a concussion, those are completely unpredictable, as we've seen with players like Ferland. A player can pass all the tests and be perfectly fine 90% of the time, but then he tries to play at game speed and realizes he's still having problems. Even if he is faking it, the league isn't going to mess around with it and tell a player he's lying about a head injury.

I can’t see a really good way to force a team to play a guy who’s been injured and who is willing to say he’s not ready to go. Especially when the league is being sued over this kind of stuff.
