JK. It's a great insight into why he coaches the way he does. He doesn't care about the fluff....there is a central core to his message and he preaches it relentlessly and has instilled it from the first road trip.
No wonder:
In Sutter We Trust.

The comment on Andersson and Hanifin is interesting. "If those guys had been taught and drilled properly... they'd been your #1 and #2". Obviously there was more to that comment, like their age and experience, but still to me that sounded like a pretty big shade to throw at their previous coaches. (Which is something coaches generally don't do in public.)
Interesting interview as others have said. Sutter is not usually that relaxed and forthcoming. I guess that's what he looks like in a good mood

He knows he’s almost done. This year and next to win a cup, and the window closes.
No need to hold back at this point. He’s not going to coach again. And he’s not wrong.

I probably wouldn’t have taken the time if you hadn’t mentioned, thank you for sharing!

It is amazing, but the best moment of the season is still Kylington's goal in Dallas.

The specific comment came in the discussion on PKers...but I believe he meant it with application to ALL players...which is why he doesn't want more than 3 PKs a night....because then you have players up in that time range and he doesn't want them there, regardless of position or reason, by the end of the season. It just shows up in Calgary on the PKers...and maybe elsewhere on other teams.

Love Darryl. Just DGAF about hurt feelings of past coaches or other teams or even the players. Just knows what he says works if you do it right.
Do you want to listen? Or do you want to lose?

Instigator Penalty
I was not to sure where to put this (don't think it needs a new thread).
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-to-lightning/
Ryan Lomberg was suspended for instigating in the last 5 minutes of the game of the Florida-Tampa game. Both players dropped the gloves, it's in the rulebook, you can't do that, and consequences from it are appropriate.
This made me think about the March 10th win over Tampa where Stamkos hops onto the ice, goes straight to Monahan, and jumps him with a minute left in the game.
It's also not like this is a new rule (2005-06), but it irks me this is clear star treatment and I wish NHL refs had post-game press conferences.

Maybe Stamkos and Dooshene are drinking buddies.
