I know you are a Steelers fan just like me and it is probably a crazy thought but I would prefer Baker over Trubisky. Give Baker a year and if he sucks find someone else.

they're both underwhelming options and, at this point, busts at the NFL level. I'd rather give Trubisky the chance, but that might be my personal dislike for Baker talking. Not that it'll matter, given the other QBs in that division.

Apparently the Browns were asking for a 1st round pick and clearly no team is going to give that up for him. Teams like Seattle may be simply biding their time until the Browns lower their asking price.

I would rather have Trubisky because he costs nothing in regards to draft capital. I'm not sure if Mayfield is much better anyway.

Baker is gonna cost next to nothing in draft capital, better to trade him for a 6th and avoid the dead cap hit then straight cutting him. Decent chance they end up straight cutting him though, which is probably what prospective teams are waiting for.

Not sure where this leaves the Seahawks. Baker doesn't seem like the guy that wants to settle, so that may be a waste of everyone's time.
Of course they are potentially looking at Kapernick so while that may get some social justice PR, he was terrible the last seasons he was throwing a ball in the NFL.
Otherwise, Geno Smith? Fitzpatrick? Newton?
I still think Jordan Love would be an option but is he better then Lock? And you would need a vet backup in Fitzpatrick.
O thinktbe rebuild will be a quick one, but QB and running back have to be the basis for the offense.

I like Matt Ryan with the Colts. Could be a career year for him simply by proxy of having an O line.

Anyone who follows the Falcons and Saints has been spoiled with not only one of the best rivalries in sports but also Brees vs. Ryan for 14 seasons. End of an era with both teams in a rebuild and now we get Winston vs. Mariota.

I mean I don't think he'll be anywhere near as bad as he was at the end in Atlanta, but career year? This is a guy who already has an MVP award and had a stretch between around 2012-2017 where he was consistently a borderline top five guy. He no longer has the ability to move in the pocket so he's much more of a statue now then in his prime. Best case scenario for the Colts is probably Phillip Rivers, pt 2, but that once again leaves them well short of the top teams in the conference. I expect they are starting another QB next year again, which would be something. Not sure I've ever seen a coach have five different starting QBs in five years, usually that kind of turnover gets you fired.

If the Colts miss the playoffs or lose in Wild Card weekend I don't think Reich or Ballard will be around for the next QB.

He's well past having a career season as he's lost arm strength and cant make all the throws he used to. That said they will do a lot with playaction and as long as he doesn't turn over the ball a lot they should be pretty competitive.

Al Michaels joins Amazon who will show the Thursday night games. Any idea if the Canadian networks (TSN) will pick up these games? Or is it Amazon too?

Career year for Matt Ryan would be 5000 yards and 40 TDs, just past 2016 and 2018 seasons. Don’t see that happening but I can see him being very effective in play action with the Colts running game as EE mentioned. Ryan’s game hinges on quick release throws and pocket presence and he’s more mobile than people realize. He’s definitely lost arm strength for deep throws though.

You can cherry pick stats, their record was above average though despite losing 2 of their top offensive players for most of the season. They have obviously improved with Adams and aren't done. You talk like they are a bottom feeders...I'm willing to be they have a top 10 record.
Carr, Jacobs, Waller, Adams...GL stopping the offense

Ha ha ha. You have nothing to lose as you are already $100 up after winning a similar bet with me a few years ago. I don't think it was about the Raiders finishing top 10 though.
