Thanks for this. My favorite memory as well by a mile in the Dome in the past 22 years as a season ticket holder. Red Mile became official and cemented for the ages that night.

In Gaudreau era: Gaudreau's goal (19.4 sec left) in third period of Round 2, Game 3 against Ducks followed up with Backlund goal in OT were my favorite Dome moments in more recent times. Bennett robbed on no goal call too. Sadly nothing else close...so far

You can't ever repeat the magic of 2004.

The economics of the NHL meant that there were rich and poor teams. Flames were a poor team that willed themselves to the Finals. Nowadays there is such parity, for better or worse.

I wonder what the Flames payroll vs the Wings payroll was that year.

77.8mil for the wings vs our 35.2mil

which was mostly Roman Turek and Iginla i think. lol

Nashville was the lowest at 23.2mil but no can guess the 2nd lowest payroll in the NHL without googling it!

yeah I think despite that 35m payroll Iggy made more then than any Flame does now (not saying he didn't deserve it!!) just different times
