They really need SAFR barriers at all f1 tracks.

"It's a very young and progressive population here in Saudi Arabia"
- Simon Lazenby just now on the pre-race show. (I don't think I got the wording exact, but he was definitely washing MBS's balls).
I'm going to plug my nose and watch today. But if they go back next year I will skip this particular race.

Personally I don't think Hamiltons anywhere close to trusting the car enough throw it around like Russell did.
Hamilton only as good as his car is. He's so fine tuned to it that if it's off, he's off.

I think the bolded is an interesting point - this car would still feel like a massive upgrade for George.
I don't think it's any indication of LH having a broken head...he's just never been a guy who could wring the neck out of a bad car, especially after 8 years of a super dominant car. IIRC it took Schumi a while to come to grips with his 'competitive' (not dominant) car in 2005.
Yet another RB/AT engine issue for Tsunoda on the way to the grid.

Watching the pre race show for the first time, does Joylon always look like he’s downed a gallon of coffee and chased it with a case or Red Bull doing the walk up the line? He was making me feel all stressed out with his spastic movements.

I miss Mazepin because it meant Latifi wasn’t the worst driver on the grid. Worse, it could be Latifi and Stroll are now 1/2 in that category. Although the god awful AM car makes Stroll’s true pace more difficult to gauge.

Should be a good final 7 laps in terms of the battle for the lead. Might see a couple lead changes down the stretch.

This could be a crazy good season.
Feel for Perez. Bad luck on the safety car.

What a fun race. Looking forward to the more traditional circuits now.
Can't wait to see how the new upgrades in Austrailia pan out.

Sad that AM finishing 12th and 13th is considered a success. Even more sad is that they only finished that high because of retirements.

I wonder if not having Vettel to lean on for set up cues is a major issue. He had that car working
But yeah, massively disappointed AM is this slow. Same for Williams if I'm honest. But the Ferrari powerplants are obviously owning the Mercs at every step so far. And Renault are just as they are. Right in the middle.

I wouldn’t be surprised if by the time we go to Baku, or Montreal, the DRS zones are shortened considerably, if not completely abandoned. Those long straights will cause too many shenanigans like we saw today. I think they’ll let the drivers rely on the tow.

Great race. I really enjoyed the battle between the Alpine drivers.
I do hope they don't come back to Saudi again though. I'm sure the drivers will fight against it.

I don’t really like Gene Haas but I’m very happy for Kevin and Gunther. I remember Kevin just hating life in the 2019 car and wanting to straight up quit races. Now he seems so happy go lucky. It’s a joy to watch.

Gonna have to get used to slotting Magnussen in the top ten regularly.
Gonna be a tough year to score points regularly in the CP pool.

Post race team radio Lewis Hamilton.
"That's P10 Lewis, sorry about that" instructions on car settings after.
Long radio silence....waiting...waiting...
Lewis: "is there even a point at P10?"
Hahahaha. It's been so long since Lewis has been midfield he doesn't even know the points system breakdown.
That's how much of a shock it is for ppl and the Mercs and Lewis. This is unfamiliar territory. Almost a decade in the making.
