Rodon signed with the Giants.
$44 million over two years.
He'll be worth that if he's healthy, but good chance he doesn't stay healthy.

Apparently unvaccinated players will not be allowed into Canada to play the Jays.
Taking home advantage to a whole new level.
Chris Sale is among the unvaccinated.

I wonder if the Jays are targeting specific players and if those players are the unvax type, if it would affect their ability to sign such guys. In the NHL I'm sure a large percentage would get vaccinated if given the choice. Baseball being Americas game and all probably has a larger percentage of players who want nothing to do with it. Seems like for home games it should help but it taints things a bit. I hope this is just the odd player here or there as I do want to see competitive games not artificially inflated because of this situation.

I for one am really looking forward to the more balanced schedule coming in 2023. I think the Jays have been at a significant disadvantage for years having to play 19 games against each AL East team.

Thats a pretty good deal for what you hope will be the 5th starter. He's got solid K rates, so hopefully Pete Walker can work some magic on him and make the deal a steal.

LOL holy crap
Jays look incredible. He will easily be the best #5 guy in the league.
That raises the floor more than an incidental amount

Great signing. Wow. From what I remember he owned the Jays. And he’s a lefty so that’s great.

I really like this deal. Was hoping for a starter to leave nothing to chance and got what was needed. Now a veteran reliever or two would be great. Really happy with this.

Apparently he has a very similar profile to a pitcher named Robbie Ray.
Hmmmm......

That rotation looks deep. Add in Stripling and Pearson. With the compressed schedule and short spring training starting pitching is going to be needed and a hot commodity, so it's smart of the Jays to be adding here.

Now I am guessing the Jays need to add an infielder who is either a 2nd or 3rd baseman.

There's been reports they are trying to sign Villar.
Not a fan of that, was hoping for a more high end acquisition.

If they just sign/trade for a legit 3B this team would be set. Then you platoon Biggio/Espinal at 2B with the other guy being the utility IF. I just hate Villar so much I want absolutely anything else to happen.

Kirk is still the likely guy to move in a trade, with Jensen taking the starting duties, Reese as backup and Moreno a potential star in waiting. Catching is at a premium right now, and it's entirely possible the Jays can rope in a difference maker. Jose Ramirez?
