Correct, last two Flames losses to the Habs were 2 to1 losses with the Flames the better overall team. A couple finishes and the Flames are up two points on the Habs, without them playing really any better overall then they have, just a couple timely goals.

And all season, only sometimes now under Sutter have the team found that confidence and next gear in the third to hold or extend leads in games they are playing better.

Don't be too hard on them, the Oilers people don't watch a lot of teams.

They watch.. well they watch the Oilers and whichever of the 6 Canadian teams the Oilers are playing.

Based on the sample size, the Smith save was easily top 10 on the year with several other Smith saves and a couple Koskinen saves.
