I was counting his last 6 and missed the .833 against Toronto. Your number is also wrong

.908 in his last 7 though
.921 in his las 6

certainly not "especially bad lately"

Yes, the team D has improved, ####ing drastically

Like I said earlier, even I would have had a decent sv% many of the past few games

He has been below average on the whole this year, there is no getting around that . Poor rebound control.

They won tonight but not because of him. (They didn’t capitalize on rebounds tonight). Any average NHL goalie wins this game

Christ. Hyperbole with intent

How dumb would one have to be to take that 100% seriously

Kinda ironic that you get mad when people say Sam Bennett got some fluke goals/assists in Florida "open nets, assists off the ass. I could have scored those" and you are probably right there

But when it comes to Markstrom you do the exact same thing

He hasn't been a top goalie since the first 12 or so games but he is certainly improving since that stretch right after the injury. Most goalies will tell you its harder to play goal when you are going long stretches with no shots.

My argument wasn't that Markstrom has been great it was that he hadn't been "exceptionally bad lately" as the poster said.

It may not be untrue

Remember the emergency guy in Toronto

If you are there, and the puck is aimed at you, you’re making a save

Sam Bennett? Lol

I get mad at nothing. Read my posts in Morgan Freeman’s voice, not Frank Costanza.

Bennett? Not on the team. There’s a thread for that

Okay you get defensive of him

must be the moustache

Flames gave up 13 scoring chances tonight so would have lost 13-3 with you in net

13 scoring chances? Sure

We can talk about shot placement one day

Markstrom had an easy night

Edit: I don’t hate the goals against tonight, either, btw. Toffoli put it over the pad inside the post. Iggy scored a ton of goals that way, abs they were well placed shots. Goal scorers’ goals. The commentators were swooning later over a shot that hit Allen’s pad. 10 inches off the ice.

I don’t think he saw the second. A bit more to it but will leave it there

They aren't my stats

Markstrom was average but he made the shoulder save late to win the game and has good numbers lately.

Yes, his numbers have been ok lately (and at the save time save % is also largely a team stat)

He won tonight, and yep got enough shoulder on that one. That’s good.

I thought he was a goaltending genius early in the year, fell off a cliff, and right now I don’t have a ton of confidence. I don’t like his rebound placement and feel like if they allow a good chance, they are at risk

The wins of late are team wins IMO

Any Sutter goalie has a good chance at, say, a ~.920+ sv.%, the way his team plays. Individual goalie difference adds or subtracts from what the team gives

I bet if he grew a moustache you would be a little less critical

(read that in the voice of Wilford Brimley)

It’d go a long way, but given that he wears a mask, I’d take better rebound control
