About time we got a bit of progression to the overall story. Big cliffhanger!

This episode was fantastic. It's kinda crazy how Star Wars came full circle back to the sci fi serials that inspired it.

Complete with all the cliff hangers of those serials, a solid story, and an insane budget, they've managed to launch Disney+ in a very inspired and genuine fashion that I imagine the creators of those early 1900s shows and hopefully George Lucas would both be proud of.

So this is just speculation. We saw the ratty undisciplined Storm Troopers in the town and we heard the speech about the Empire bringing piece and order and prosperity and trade etc. then we see the call from Moff Gideon.

The next thing we see is the Death Troopers and Storm Troopers in shiny armor and Gideon is that perfect armor.

I wonder if Moff Gideon is actually first order and not Empire.

So what I loved about that episode

Spoiler!

For $399.99, Disney is proud to present!
“The Art of the Mandalorian” coming to a Chapters near you!

I’d buy it

So I think I figured out what this show reminds me of.

Burn Notice.

Every episode it's like he's reluctantly doing jobs/missions he's not really into but does anyway.

"Michael, you need to help your brother"
"Mando, you need to help baby yoda"

Same show.

Baby Yoda force choke was unexpected and wonderful. Angry face was icing on top.

Man, my favorite character whacked at the end of the episode sucks. I demand vengeance. Excited to see how it ends!

Thought it was pretty great. However, when Carl Weathers was explaining how the original plan was do double-cross the Mandalorian....I was like wow that's a shocker.

I don't think that there was any secret that there was a double cross coming, it showed how savvy the Mandalorian was that he got his own crew to counter it..

Even after he killed his own crew, Cara was constantly feeling a second double cross was coming, and she was right about that, she was just wrong about who would do the double crossing.

Great episode, best of the year. I know there had been speculation that this whole team building thing had a purpose, and it paid off in spades.

I do wonder if the Ugnaught is actually dead, or if he is coming back with a IG-11 programmed to protect baby Yoda and ready to kill. There has to be a reason they spent the time they did on the back story of the re purposed droid.

My bet, when they took the baby from the ship IG-11 followed his programming to protect his master and the baby and is in town.

Its the only way I think they can break that ambush.

I get the feeling he's crafted himself some kind of suit of armour. It would be a pretty weak send off to just have him die off screen alone in the dessert. I need to re-watch the episode. I'd like to go into detail through his dialogue about surviving enslavement to see if there are any clues to his current fate.
