What about kylington/hamonic as the 3rd pairing?

Just not desperate enough to make the moves to the net that they need to make, yet. I suspect that will come in the third period.

People want to write off the game and team after 40 but we know when the flames best in this is coming, so suspend your judgment a wee bit yet.

Flames aren't doing that badly. It is sure evident the Blues are way more confident in their game. This should be a good lesson to show how far away the Flames are at the moment.

The Flames have looked pretty good here, it could be going either way. Discipline continues to be a problem and costs them a goal a game. Granted from my homer view the refs are ####ing us

Sure haven’t seen that yet, tonight.
I think the reason the Flames top players aren't preforming is the Blues. The physical play of the Blues is causing the Flames to play the perimeter game.

the blues do an excellent job of moving together and controlling the centre of the ice. they gave up some odd man chances but the flames were horrible at executing

Someone just spilled a beer on me so it'd be criminal now if the Flames lost. The hockey gods will intervene

Then they’re the wrong best players.

The Flames haven't had much puck luck so far. They're not playing so bad, but also haven't been able to dictate the pace and play their game.

I don’t know that the flames are playing badly but the blues are just relentless in their puck pursuit all over the ice.

I miss Daryl sutter. I feel berube has his team playing so much like a sutter team. Not surprised that they’re style just wins, regardless of the era.

I think it works better if you say it in passing, rather than a forceful attempt at a jinx. That's usually when it fails.

I will say this - from a hockey purist standpoint the product is much more exciting watching the Flames struggle against a true contender than watching them against middle of the road and bottom feeder teams.

The Blues keep the whole game fast and exciting with skill and effort. Excellent hockey.

I think we’re seeing the Flames are not quite contenders and still need a few pieces. Every top team we’ve played this year has handled us pretty easily, Tre needs to get us another top 6C so we can compete with the big boys.

Yep. Janko needs to grow his game elsewhere. We need something else down the middle. And one more pure RW.

We have the assets. Git er done.

Certainly true when playing the style of game Berube has these guys playing.

It's a thing of beauty when the players buy in and execute it the way they are.

Oh yeah, we're at least a top 6 forward away. I don't think we're a few pieces away like you do. You have to remember that any top 6 forward acquisition also pushes everyone down a spot.

So if you upgrade second line centre, all of a sudden Backlund becomes a third line centre, which makes our top 3 lines very strong. Or a star winger pushes Mangiapne down to third line which really improves that line etc.
