I am sorry but this is such a silly comment to make. People in that thread want the team to play well and not like crap. It's because they are frustrated as the Flames have been playing mediocre for a while now. No one is actively rooting for this team to continue sucking so they can be "right" in the unpopular opinions thread. If the team turns everything around and wins the cup, none of those people will be "salty" and probably pretty happy they were wrong.

Also, they played well for 25 minutes. Lets pump the brakes a little and see where they go from here before we start with the mighty "told you so" posts.

Here is today's sports morning show in Nashville, the first 10 minutes are a great listen. Former Titan WR Derrick Mason had turned off the game and just found out the Preds lost the game

Exactly, Rittich doesnt make that 2 on 0 save and we are talking about an embarrassing effort/loss.

Glad he did though!

I cannot understand how NHL defenseman keep playing the 2 on 1 so poorly. Take the god damn pass option away and let the goalie deal with the shooter. It’s so frustrating watching the Flames defenseman do this.

It was even the Norris trophy winner who was guilty of this last night!

The pass was arced over the d-man's stick. I'm not sure that's actually a stoppable play.

Good coaches are coming up with ways to nullify traditional defensive plays. Even the high rim around the boards is stoppable now.

With how fast the game has become, I would almost rather see the defender drop and slide towards the shooter putting the shooter under the gun to make a beautiful pass followed by a beautiful shot than give a shooter extra time to place their shot or find a trailing guy.

You're speaking from your perspective and I share your opinion, but...

Whether you like it or not, some people just love to hate. Some posters in that thread are those people.

Monahan was doing some very nice things during the comeback that went unheralded and didn't result in points for him.

In the intermission it was reported (albeit by Francis) that Monahan is trying to work on defence and physicality and is prepared to sacrifice points for that. Now maybe that is self-justification, but if he can become more of a two-way guy (as he was projected to be), that improves the team.

Some but really not that many. I'm very active on Flames, Stampeders and Raiders forums. Two of those forums the team has largely been mediocre/bad for decades and the other is a model franchise. Needless to say the common denominator is that fans simply become jaded when they see history repeat over and over. Some people simply don't deal with having their hopes crushed over and over as well as others. It's important to be respectful of all angles.

If the defender takes the pass option away that would give the shooter a ton of open ice to work with he would probably just walk in and dangle the goalie
