Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer
I believe the Oilers are in the mix on Grabner...but a longshot.
Many have suggested a NY-area team.
But hearing Arizona pursuing hard.

Would he want to go to Winnipeg is the question? We already know he would be open to Calgary as he signed an offer sheet here once upon a time.

You throw emough darts, you are going to get some right.

As for mangiapane, dube, parsons, fox... talk to me when any of them become impactful players. Remember when Poirier was a steal because of his speed? Baertschi was gonna be a superstar? Max Rienhart was killing it in the CHL? Flames fans always get hyped up about these players who generally end up fizzling away.

Knew it!

I can see him slotting on the RW beside Bennett & Jankowski (assuming Janko isn't moved to Buffalo)

The draft is always a crap shoot. Every team has picks they don't like, but you can't draft Tkachuk or Monahan if you don't have a pick.

Using the term "bust" incorrectly

If not on the first line like Ferland, he’ll be great!

If we're in on Maroon now too there's definitely some deck clearing that needs to happen.

Nah. You're entitled to your opinion but it's not time for the bust card to come out.

Bust means literally doesn't play.

Disappointment vs expectations is what you're after, and agreed

Those are Top 10 picks. Is that what we are gearing for again?

In the last 20 years, how many impactful players have the Flames drafred in the first round who were not top 10 picks?

Fair enough. So, if Yakupov gets a contract, he is still not a bust?

Interesting definution but I respect it.

Don't go after Maroon! I think we're better off to hope that Brouwer can have a better year and step up the plate. I know, I know, but there has to be a chance. Then buy him out next year, assuming he doesn't step up which has to be the consensus prediction. Then at this time next year we can talk about bringing in a player like Marooon.
