Gawd, this game was late...

Sloppy defensive coverage is concerning. When it's bad, it's really bad

I love Monahan and Brodie

Smith has been excellent

Tkachuk is going to drive so many opposing players nuts, it's amazing

Doughty is really really whiny

I have ragged on the guy with the rest, but Brouwer's defense of Gio was just awesome to watch. I didn't care at all that it negated the PP. You have to set the tone for the rest of the season; funny business on our captain will not be tolerated. Atta Troy

Has to happen now to make sense.

But maybe throw in Tkachuk, since his dad is a Jets legacy player.

Yeah.. I'd keep Tkachuk over Wheeler. We finally have a player that is not only skilled, but gets under other players skin.

PS I figure when Monahan hits 10 OT goals, I'll put them all in a video together.
GG tries to contain himself, but he can't have a "no reaction" to a game winning goal! Love it!

Gotta start getting frustrated and going to bed when they are playing that sloppy more often. That's some crow I'm happy to eat, sounds like a great final 10 minutes / OT.

Meanwhile you would never know they won a game from looking Dave Cameron.

Good outcome, but it had it's scary moments. I was listening in bed when it was 3-2 Kings, and must have slightly dozed off when Tkachuk scored. I had no idea the Flames scored to tie. Only when the horn went did I hear it was OT! A nice surprise indeed, and the win makes in the icing on the cake.

First in the division!

Massive momentum swings last night. Flames are lucky Tkachuk got that chance to tie it up and made good on it. He was flames MVP after smith.

The team d really really need to be better. They give up way too much.

Nice to see Bennett working hard and being first at times but I haven't seen much evidence so far that he has figured out how to be an offensive threat. And also disappointed with Ferland. For the premium offensive minutes he's being given, it feels like he doesn't even have a scoring chance to show for it other than his 1 goal.

Nice to get the W but there's some definite areas for improvement.

Only thing to really emphasize at this point.
With that 'league average goaltending' everyone talks about, the Flames might be winless.
That's what timely great goaltending does - wins you games that you otherwise shouldn't, and thus separates you from the pack.
Thank you, Mike Smith. The boys will get better in front of you, guaranteed.

Ok, but what if instead of Tkachuk we threw in Giordano and Hamilton?

Well it would only work if we also included parsons and smith. A goalie for now and their future. It's only fair

The Flames would have to retain max salary on all those trades and include every first round pick from now until Wheeler retires...but it would have had to have happened yesterday for it to make sense. Sorry

One of the reasons for the high shot count is that the Flames have played 3/4 of their games on the road, and shots for home teams appear especially high all around the League. Last night the Leafs fired 50 SOG; the Canadiens 41 against Chicago the night before; in their only home game Calgary outshot Winnipeg 45-29. Yeah, it’s presently an issue, but I’m not terribly worried about it.
