Default Flames vs. Jets: Flames home opener.

5v5 Versteeg-Bennett-Lazar looks great.

...but holy crap is the team beating itself.

Brodie’s awful icing = goal against.

Backlund’s awful coverage = goal against.

Versteeg’s awful giveaway = goal against.

This breakout, if it stays as is, will be the death of this team.

Might as well let Ken King or Bill Smith coach this team. The results wouldnt be much different.

Treliving's plan to turn us into Phoenix North is a success. We are officially Phoenix North.

No idea what's going on with Brodie. Two games in a row he's got his back turned to the most dangerous player on the ice and they score. Noticed that Laine is getting put out there when Brodie is on the ice a lot too.

Also looks like he's terrified to skate the puck past his own blueline. Just downright puzzling.

The 1st line is just completely vacant. If this continues they’re gonna have to look at splitting up Johnny and Monahan.

Don't expect much. Gulutzan isn't a motivator and won't get them fired up during the intermission.

Here's hoping Gukutzan doesn't wait until game 40 like last year to simplify his system that no one seems to be able to grasp

This sort of thing is actually a positive. Individual events that don't reflect the overall flow of play are usually not as good an indication of how things will go over the course of 82 games. It's just frustrating.

I feel bad for Smith. Not nearly enough hunger for pucks by the team in front of him. Wtf does it take for them to get going
