I agree 100%. Also, as a side note it's interesting that there hasn't been any alliance names this year (I see this as a good thing).

Who cares about making it to the final 8? The only thing that matters is winning or not winning. If you're final 12 or 10 or 8 or 5 doesn't really matter that much.
These houseguests are dumb because they frequently have made choices that don't benefit their own game, it benefits Paul's game.
As for no alliance, well their isn't any formal alliance and the house definitely has fractured into pairs but the entire house has acted and voted as a house for almost a month now. And I don't mean like previous seasons where people will fight for a decision, see they won't win and then vote with the majority. I'm talking every had teh exact same goal from the minute the HOH was decided. Paul has dictated each and every eviction. Even ones that didn't benefit other players. Watch the comps. People don't even care when they lose anymore. There's no downside or risk. They all just laugh and celebrate as if they won because they know there's no question as to what will happen.
Longevity is only an achievement in this game if it doesn't come at the cost of a chance at winning. I have way more respect for players who at least try and dictate their own future. Maven have pretty much 0% chance of winning. Their only chance is to appear so inept that they become an attractive final 2 partner to guarantee victory for the other person. Neither of them would stand any chance of beating any of the remaining houseguests.
If they had half a brain they would have realized this, aligned themselves with Cody/Mark/Jess/Elena/Kevin and kicked out the power players.
Did they make it further than some of the other players? And will they last longer than some stronger players? Possibly but they also have no influence or control and when they are targeted, they will be at the mercy of the rest of the house.

Typically players that make big moves don't end up winning as most of the best players had others do their bidding. Really the key aspect to winning Big Brother is self-preservation and making it through every week. In this sense the house is doing a good job as they are all getting by and in the coming weeks will be when the pairs strike on each other.

There have been like 4 or 5 people who have said to Paul "It would be a privilege to come second to you".
There isn't a single person that isn't taking Paul to final 2. There isn't a single person that will beat him.

There was also a time that some of those same people would have happily scarified their game for Raven to win.
Now that the money is getting 'real' and the people realize they are getting ever closer to half a million dollars, the "honour" to losing to Paul might not mean much of anything. Especially if people start comparing notes. I think the only person who for sure sticks with the idea is Alex because she's delusional enough to believe everyone loves her and she'll be back next season anyways.
While I would be far from shocked from a Paul win, it only takes a week for anyone's game to explode and come crashing down.

I can't see raven, Matt or josh winning. I'd say Kevin's chances are slim. For chance of winning I'd say
Paul
Alex
Christmas
Jason
Kevin
Josh
Matt
Raven

Maybe they know that Paul has a lot of influence and saying something like that will ensure that they get carried far enough along before they finally can make their move. That's how I would play it.

LOL if you are buying what people are selling in the house middle of the season then this game isn't for you. You can bet when the players realize how close they are to $500k their opinions will change fast. That bolded comment on yours kind of shows you really don't understand how things work in the house. The goal is to win and despite many of you people thinking these players are dumb there's players in there that are smart enough to know that bringing Paul to the final two is not going to get you half a million dollars. I would tell Paul the same thing just to ensure I wasn't on his radar. You say what you have to to get by in this game. That's how it works.

Yeah if any of them had any kind of plan I would have expected something to come out in the DR. Paul is very open about how he is playing all sides like a fiddle and who he plans to bring. Everyone else's DR seems really set on Paul being on their side. I'm sure as we get to the final 5 they might wake up, but right now I don't have much hope. Good on Paul, he played the group he had perfectly.

Alex said it to the cameras, in an empty room, to the viewers only. She may be trying to game the viewers, like Derrick did, but it seems she legitimately believes that if her losing to Paul while gaining America's affection is a possible way to go.

So Jason finally makes what could be considered an actual big move and the whole house collectively ####s their pants including worst human alive Alex turning on her BFF in about 1 second flat.
He likely wasn't getting Maven's vote anyway so it's not a bad move IMO. And now he's guaranteed himself Kevin's vote. Weird that Paul, Xmas and Alex are against this though. Maven are useless but a couple at this point are dangerous. Kevin is harmless. Alex trying to get him out just because she hates him and is crazy. I think she also doesn't like it that Jason has other allies. She wants him alone so she can force him out when he outlasts his usefulness.

Most people vote for whoever of the final 2 played the best game anyway. Playing "for votes" is stupid.
If Maven go to jury and be like "oh Jason did blah blah no way we vote for him" others will just make them look stupid on tv and vote where they should. If indeed he deserves to win.

I kept thinking maybe he might actually keep noms the same, then thought it's probably just edited that way to make you think he will. Was pleasantly surprised when he did. Hopefully things pick up a bit now.

Yeah. Kevin is his friend and one of the few people he can probably trust right now. From his point of view it would have been idiotic to put him up. Having Kevin evicted on his watch as HOH would have been a massive failure for his game given he can't compete next week. He's probably the biggest target in the house regardless as he's been winning the majority of the competitions of late so he's going to have to hope that Kevin or Alex wins or he's going on the block (I expect if Paul wins his strategy would be to put up Jason supposedly as a pawn and let the house evict him so he can move in on Alex).

Easy eviction in a heated episode. If I had to guess who would go up if each person was HOH it would be
Jason: can't compete
Alex: Kevin and Raven?
Christmas: Jason and Alex
Josh: Jason and Alex
Raven: Jason and Alex (paul would tell her to)
Kevin: Not sure, maybe Josh and Alex/Raven?
Paul: No idea, he will likely throw the comp

I hope Kevin wins
I loved that he called Josh out, this housemaid bullying is horrible
The second the veto isn't used they try and move on to next week and start bullying that person, Kevin was like eff this to Josh and just ended it, then Josh cries wondering why people tell at him ffs

At this point I'm almost most interested in how these house guests are going to react to how america thinks of them
I usually don't care after the finale episode, especially because for some reason they don't do a Reunion. I would watch a full 3 hour show of them showing clips to houseguests and having them see who was making them look like a cool, or playing them
But at this point the biggest contenders are
Matt and raven - legitimately think they are the best showmance. Raven thinks she's America's sweetheart and not thought of as the biggest liar in the house. Matt drops her so fast imo, when he said she was the best player left in the game you could feel the audience cringe
Alex - probably the most hated person in the house, think she's going to win AFP
