lol @ all the "omg, Tkachuk got his elbow up, so dirty!" comments.
Makes me think you'd be curled up in the fetal position by now, if you were watching hockey in the 70's and 80's. That play was classic Howe/Messier.

Clear intent by Tkachuk, but toeing the line enough to probably avoid suspension (considering the refs didn't even decide to call it). Honestly though Doughty was being a bitch so I don't even feel bad or disgusted.

Should have been a penalty, but don;t think it's a suspension

Ha exactly. Tkachuk doesn't do stuff like that by accident, and that's perfect.

Doughty gets zero benefit of the doubt for me.
I think he was surprised by the hit, but was also trying to sell it and draw a penalty.

Yeah but that was 30-40 years ago.

Yeah that elbow was bad, likely a one game suspension would be shocked if it was anything more than that.
Don't even care, thank god he is on our team and not on the Canucks.

I think the Pearson elbow on Tkachuk afterward was the far more dirty play.

Really impressed with Lazar in that 1st period. Playing with lots of jump and throwing his weight around, as expected.

i'd be surprised if that's a suspension to be honest... a fine maybe?
but hey, the NHL isn't the most consistent organization...
i'll be interested to see if LA tries getting payback on Tkachuk if the game is lost

I don't think it looks that bad. Maybe I'm not seeing the right angle but it doesn't look devastating by any margin.
