First off, thanks Caged great! Being out in Victoria, its nice to see some REAL camp action.

I say that because I endured the Nucks Dev Camp today at Shawnigan Lake School out here on the island..

Instantly became one of my favourite prospects. Knocked a few people over and was one of the most physical of all players and smart in how he used his physicality to separate people from the puck.
I can tell you, he doesnt look very big. Infact, he was not much of anything TBQH.. on one drill, Scott Walker was having the Dmen fake a shot from the blueline at the boards then make a pass to the D partner for a shot.

Walker stepped in twice with him and reminded Juolevi that he has to look at the net and sell the shot then look at his D-partner to make the pass, his no lookers that close to the line kept going outside the zone.

All in all, i was really unimpressed with Juolevi.

Brock Boeser was really impressive last year, but this year he didnt seem to have the same intensity...

The standout from today on the Nucks ice was Dman Troy Stetcher, but he is smaller, 5'10 190lbs. He was quick with the puck, can skate like the wind and can make solid plays at high speed. Good composure in tight spots too. Also plays with Boeser at U of ND.

Demko was pretty good. big goalie. Not a lot got passed him.

One guy I really liked last year and looks even better this year, Dmitry Zhukenov. Not a big guy but hes relentless in his puck pursuit and has some skill. I would love the Flames to get their hands on him.

So sad.. im sorry to be posting nucks stuff in such a joyous thread..

Everyone, I will be attending development camp tomorrow and Thursday, taking pictures and writing anecdotes on many players.

Question: who do you guys want me to look closely at? Of course, I'll be looking at guys like Janko and Tkachuk, but who else in particular would you like a report on?

Let's start a poll to decide

I think there should be a poll to decide if we have a poll.

Hee hee hee!

As I will be at Winsport in eight hours, I feel a series of polls, though a decent idea in theory, would be far too time-consuming to achieve a desired result.

So, let's streamline the process shall we?

For my own interest, I'll also be reporting anyway on Carroll and Kylington. Just want some more input.

Tell us of Adam Fox. Interested in what he's got.

Brayden Burke. Interested to see if the Flames found a late bloomer or if he'll only have success in the WHL.

Unfortunately, the wifi there is terrible. I recorded it on my tablet and uploaded it after last year. I don't mind making that two in a row.

Seconded. Besides Tkatchuk, I'm really intrigued by Fox. Who knows, maybe he develops like Tyson Barrie. Wouldn't that be something.

All right, I'll try, everyone. I'm sure Caged Great will have much better analysis () but I'll do my best. Continue to send me suggestions, please!

Any player analysis would be appreciated, but what I always particularly enjoy are comments from management that people overhear. So, if you spot any management types in the crowd, try to get near them and listen closely.

I'll bring my sunglasses and a copy of the Herald.

One thing that stands out to me:

Size. A huge proportion of these kids are HUGE! Hats off to the scouting staff for finding that golden mix of size and skill.

Tkachuk, in stature, does remind me of Corey Perry. He looks like he'll be tough to knock off the puck.

I'm most excited about Jankowski. He looks like a pro out there. He looks pretty darned strong too. I've been looking forward to him attending full on training camp for a long time, and I am somewhat hopeful he may be able to play his way onto the big team.

The spectators. If you can get a seat near Treliving, you might hear some "insider information" like last year when someone from CP was sitting in front of him and overheard him saying GMs were calling him about Brandon Hickey more than anyone else. Also, potential coaches wandering around the building, anything that gives us an inside scoop. Just my opinion

I would like to know which player most resembles Iginla from his first Flames game in '93.

The fact that Hunter Smith looks faster is intriguing. Some more insight on him would be appreciated. Thanks!

With five goalies in camp, who looks to be the odd goalie out?

Is there any preferential treatment to Tka and Jank?

Anyone not giving 110% effort?

Any Cameron sightings?

Thank you!
