I don't get why the ball hitting the wire is any different then it hitting the betting itself.
Catch is irrelevant since the wire altered its path.

I wouldl not have - particularly since there isn't a great option on the bench. And I don't think you want to take any defensive downgrade. Not with a team that puts the ball in play like the Royals do.

I don't mind a wide strike zone but when I see calls like that I wonder if a computerized strike zone isn't the way to go. That wasn't close to a strike on a 3-2 pitch.
