When Glencross left the Flames they were in position to make their run for the play offs..

They were in 8th spot.

At the start of the year he was putting in 18 minutes a game always against the other teams best line... Same or maybe a little more ice-time than Hudler and just behind Monahan as the highest Ice time on the Flames..... Backlund only played in 11 of the first 25 games..

Glencross was wearing an A and was a team leader.

The Flames were 15-8-2 at the start of December.

It is not an outrageous discussion (to me anyway) that had Glencross not been a Flame for the 1st 25 games last season the Flames would not have made the playoffs.

Can't understand what happened and hope that he gets a chance to get back in and end his NHL career on a good note rather than the disaster it became after he was traded from the Flames.

Agreed.

I'm one of the biggest Glencross supporters on this forum and even I think that's an outrageous claim. He hasn't been much of a player for at least 2.5 seasons.

12-5 in the regular season (66 GF vs 56 GA) but that includes the 5-1 thumping the Flames took in game 82 to the Jets after clinching and dressing minor leaguers.

5-6 in the playoffs.

Well, got to hand it to Glencross and/or his agent; getting some free exposure through talking with Dreger and thus getting on the front page of TSN.

No doubt Dreger will be calling his agent though for payback in the form of being first in breaking a trade or free agent signing from one of the other agents other clients, as soon as he can, though.

Glencross for whatever reason stopped playing hard, It was what made him successful, maybe it was bad wings or something else but he floated far too much the last couple of seasons to be wanted for the $$$ he asked for.
