A top 20 pick this year will be good too. Flames are set for a long time. If they avoid the gamble that Sutter as GM tried, trading picks for talent to win now, they could be a perenial playoff team and frequent contender.

Sorry, but we're picking 30th this year...

I haven't watched play in the WHL, but when he came back he was lighting the league on fire, now his scoring pace has settled back down to the same as his draft year.
His game log makes it seem like he has had one great month this season and a whole lot of unremarkable play. Sound familiar?

Eight left so they're pretty much locked into the position they're in now probably facing the 67's in the first round.

If they go out early would love to see Sam go play in the World Championships like Johnny did last year. Good experience.

No way. Too many Oilers on that team.

He was on Prime Time Sports early last week and sounded VERY happy about it.

Wouldn't they play Oshawa?

I can't wait to see Bennett punch a Canuck directly in the mouth.

Had it off by one position they would play north bay battalion. Assuming the standings stay the same Oshawa would be first with the barrie colts winning the other division so they would be in second. Then its just 1v8 and 2v7 etc. so it would be 3 (North Bay) vs 6 (Kingston).

OHL playoffs are East and West conferences, playoff seeds are one through eight. Right now Kingston sits 6th, if the playoffs ended today they'd face 3rd place North Bay Battalion.
With Bennet and Watson back it's a very possible upset for the Frontenacs.

Don't count on it. They are 5-1 with him back and are really looking good. And you could tell from the way the commentators were talking that they are getting more confident with every game.

Draisaitl is a great prospect, Oilers property or not. However, I have since watching him in the NHL have come to think that he will just not be a good enough skater to be a big impact player at the highest level. I'm pretty happy that the Flames ended up with Bennett.

So projecting Bennet finishes the season with 25 points isn't a stretch. He's so done with the OHL.

He could probably use a good year in the AHL to work on his skating and pro game but you just know that's not going to happen as he will be pushed back into the NHL. Feel kind of bad for him.
