More on Wideman there. Wideman had control of the puck, had some time, didn't have to launch the puck as much as he did.

I think Paul Byron is now leading the league in missing the net on glorious chances.

Kid has to put them in sooner or later.

Paul Byron makes Matthew Lombardi look like Pavel Bure.

Of course it's Joel "Flame killer" Ward who gets the goal.

Bad luck for Hiller on both. Can't get the bounces forever.

Jooris has unbelievable wheels... I cant believe he tracked that pass down and got it out to Byron in the crease. He is a keeper.

Not our night tonight. Conceded a tip in and 2 deflections off Hiller. Are the hockey gods miffed that we smashed the Habs or something?

I agree, both should have gone, doesn't change the fact Glencross just cost us a goal because he couldn't keep his temper in check. Sticking up for team mates and taking a penalty has some benefits to team and culture, responding with a lack of discipline every time some one bates you is exactly what hurts a team. Glencross needs to take a number there and wait for an appropriate time and opportunity for retribution, not selfishly feed his need for instant gratification.

Still plenty of hockey to be played in this one. Flames can win this. Just need to stay out of the damn box. The Caps PP is absolutely lethal.

... frankly I dont understand how that OV play isn't subject to review... the league is cracking down on headshot, no? Or does that not apply to stars, as usual?

Too bad about Byron's chance there, but what a play by Jooris to set it up.

If we've learned anything about the Flames over the past year or two is that this game is not over. Lots of time left, and they usually play quite well in the 3rd.

Caps haven't been that great, they're not going to continue to get favorable bounces all night.
