About what I expected. A whole lot of meh. There's coverage but it's hard packed everywhere but Larch. I wouldn't say don't go but I wouldn't be overly excited to go either.

On the other hand given your other option I'd say hit LL, but I also don't get your love affair with COP

COP appeals to my laziness, man. It's all about the short drive.

Well, I'll take your Meh. Kids are booked into morning lessons at LL so it looks like a go. Thanks for the review. I would have cancelled if you said it was worse.

For February Lake Louise is terrible. I've skied there my whole life and I don't think I've seen it this bad this far into the year. That being said it still might be the better option over Kimberly or Fernie. Unless there's a big dump I think I'll stick to Sunshine.

I'm thinking I should put my summer wheels on this weekend, as that inevitably will bring back winter.

Nakiska had 20 cm in 24 hours. Season saver?

Just did Panorama today and while it's in better shape than any of the Alberta hills I've been on there are still a lot of extremely icy runs. As a novice snowboarder trying to do the Sun Bowl (or more accurately Ice Bowl) was not fun at all

Stay at the summit if you can (I understand you said novice, so maybe not). Rain level there for about a week was hovering at chair 8-11 on the second lift. Everything above that saw snow and was in good condition.

Thanks for that. Was looking to go next weekend but had heard mixed reviews. Have a couple of those Costco passes I need to use before the seasons up but wasn't even going to bother if it was all ice and slush.

If you stay on the main face where the snow makers are it's fine, had a lot of fun on the middle section of the mountain. It's just when you get to the outer runs like Founders Ridge and Sun Bowl where it's an icy mess. And I did go up to the summit a couple of times but I honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and the top of the Champagne Express chair, it was still quite hard packed

Got lucky again. Kimbo got 20 cm on Friday and we skied on Saturday. There was a lot of fresh but no base so all of the side runs are still no-go's. Stuck to the main runs though and got a half decent, cruising, drunken day in.

It is my understanding that you can return those Costco lift tickets to Costco before the end of the season

I've heard that too. If you purchase tickets and do not use them you can return them. I've never tried it so you would need to confirm.

^ a friend of mine told me that the lift tix could be returned before the resort in question closes for the season.

at the end of the day i suppose the product (lift ticket) is really no different than a box of delicious gummi bears that could also presumably be returned if they are unopened

Thinking of taking a flex day Friday and heading out. Obviously it's been a terrible season all around. So what's decent right now? I've only been out 3x this year (Castle, LL, Sunshine) so I'm out of the loop.

Yup, my bros returned the Powder Card vouchers for Fernie which they bought from Costco. Took them back no problem as long as they aren't used or registered.

Even if you did register it, I'm not sure how they'd know anyways...

With the lack of snow my work is a little slower than we would like to be so we are doing another ski tune special. This time around it'll be $30 for skis and $35 for snowboards for complete tunes, regular price is $45-$50. Also we are testing out a infrared wax machine which according to testing is the equivalent of a 4 hour hot box wax.

The special will be running from March 1st- March 13th.

For those of you who don't know my work is Sports Rent, 4424 16th Ave NW. 403-292-0077.
