I'm a little surprised they got Ball. I wonder if this is just a stepping stone to the national gig once the HNIC thing shakes down.
With Sportsnet doing regional and national for the Flames I wouldnt be surprised if they have committed to Ball that he will call the national games as well.

They have 4 national announcers already but at some point if they are going to be doing all those game it might be necessary. October 11 for example, 6 different games that involve Canadian teams.
This is excellent news; Ball/Hrudey is a national-quality broadcast team. We're supposed to be a part of a major sports league. I'm so excited we're going to have a major league broadcast team to witness the start of this new era in our history.

I'm not sure I know ball's voice, but I really like Hrudey.
Happy to hear this

We got Rick Ball? That's fantastic news, he's very, very good. He's always been a Vancouver guy, I've been listening to him since his days in Kelowna, before he did the BC Lions games and then moving to CBC.

That's basically what Im thinking. Bring in the regional guys to fill the national spots when needed. And based on their schedule Id imagine they will need it quite a bit.
