Then you add Wotherspoon who looked good in his rookie pro season, even at the NHL level.
Then you add Sieloff, who appears to have not missed a step despite his disastrous injury last season.
Kanzig by all account is an absolute beast, and improving each year.

I think there is some gold in that group, can't wait to see what happens over the next few years.
This is why I wish we would have bought Wideman and extended Brodie. Then sign Seabrook (enter aging vet) for a 1 year deal. As of now, we don't have any contacts expiring for 2 years (Gio and Russell). Figure Gio is resigned.

If one of the young guys are ready you put aging vet in the stands. If 2 young guys are ready you try to flip the vet to a team that needs an experienced body.

I know we can make moves, but Wideman will be a tough contract (even salary retained) to move. Hope I am wrong.

I would say the biggest disappointment today was Hunter Smith, didn't notice him at all

Hah, tsn has linked to Mr AsshandlerSteve's video from their bardown section, comparing him to Datsyuk:

You have to credit the goalie for not biting as bad as Turco and Vokun.

Bennett looks like he actually lost control there and got kind of lucky?

I only made it for the 3rd and shootout today and I did not have a list with the jersey numbers, will be there for the whole thing on Wednesday and I will make sure to get the numbers. I've never gone to one of these before, but I was impressed with the pace and physicality of the game.

Bennett was better than I expected, this board kinda lowering my expectations based on some posts over the weekend. look confident enough, strong enough, fast enough... to compete against anyone on the ice. Had the best shootout of anyone I saw, didn't quit on the shot at all. It was kinda hard because they had two guys shooting at the same time, so I missed a half dozen shooters.

Gaudreau, Had a couple great pass, the other guys on his team were not always ready for them. For people looking to temper expectations He may have been guilty of over handling the puck a times. Best player on the ice for sure, but I think it is unlikely we will see him try to undress guys ever single shift in the NHL like he did to the prospects in the 3rd period today. In the skating drill after the game was about 10 feet in front of the next fastest guy in his group.

Klimchuk, I have not been that high him, maybe because he seems so far down the org chart at LW. But I think from what I saw today his game will translate really well to a pro game, I think he might make it further than most expect in training camp. Seemed to get to loose pucks on his side quickly, and was strong on the puck when he had it. I was at ice level on his defensive end, so I had a better view of him checking or breaking out then I had of him in the Offensive zone.

Can't really comment on anyone else, I was mostly watching for those 3 because I knew who they were.
