The best teams got more points under this ref than poor teams? It would actually seem that United did worse with this ref than their average ... last year not withstanding.

I don't know what the conclusion would be, but a penalties awarded stat might be more revealing. Or an admittedly subjectively "poor calls in favour of" stat.
That said, I never had a huge problem with him reffing Arsenal games, MOST of his high profile gaffes seemed to be involve other teams.
United's winning percentage, is actually worse with Webb, BUT he would ref the bigger matches against better opponents, where it made sense that United's percentage would see a drop.
Based upon their W/T/L metrics above, doesn't paint much of a biased picture like so many opponents fans see.

He gave United a penalty and sent Slippy off after a dangerous two footed lunge that could easily have broken Carrick's leg and is a red any day of the week in a FA cup game a few years back. And, thus .... his legend was born.
He will be missed by Liverpool fans more than United as he was a sort of coping mechanism for them in deluding themselves he was the only reason for United's success and their failure.
I will remember him most though for not sending De Jong off.

I think for most people that was just a joke.
Anyways, Liverpool sign Manquillo on a 2 year loan with an option to buy.

Liverpool have signed right-back Javi Manquillo from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid on a two-year loan deal.
The 20-year-old's move includes an option for the Reds to make the transfer permanent.

both Barcelona and Manchester United have tabled an offer for Vermaelen ... Wenger just confirmed. Crazy stuff. That Vermaelen, after all the injury trouble and being pushed out of the Arsenal first XI by Mertesacker and Koscielny, now has the choice between Barcelona and United is beyond bizarre. Not sure I want Vermaelen and his injuries for 12-15m ...

To be fair Barca and United have put in an offer on every half-available CB in the world other than David Luiz.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
To be fair Barca and United have put in an offer on every half-available CB in the world other than David Luiz.
Vermaelen is the first CB to receive an offer from United this summer. Dortmund have made it clear that they won't sell Hummels under any circumstances and De Vrij said that United was never interested in him. Haven't heard anything about other CB targets.
I think that Vermaelen, Cuadrado and Vidal are those who are still on van Gaals wishlist. Maybe even di Maria, after Paris pulled out of the deal because "it was too expensive". That happens when you have to deal with FFP and pay loads of money for the most overrated CB in the world ... Bayern have stated that they are done with summer spending and Barcelona have apparently ended their interest in Cuadrado too because Alves won't leave ... so that opens a lot of possibilities for United in regards to the targets mentioned above. Time to backup your big words with actions, Woodward.
I think Vermaelen would work well for both clubs based on what still seems to be available
that United back 3 always needs at least 1 CB on the field who can play with the ball a bit, I think Jones can but Evans/Smalling can't very well
and same kind of thing for Barca, they have been playing Mascherano there the past few years, they need someone who can play a pass and play a high line

absolutely, I think he'd fit in nicely on paper. But his injury problems concern me ... Evans, Smalling and Jones are all pretty injury prone themselves. Not sure if adding a fourth guy made of glass is a smart idea.
Ravel Morrison threatened to throw acid in the face of his ex-girlfriend and have her killed, a court heard on Thursday.
The 21-year-old is also accused of threatening to blow up her house in a course of harassment against his ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor lasting four years, Manchester Magistrates' Court heard.
The former Manchester United player was initially arrested and charged with two counts of common assault after allegedly punching and slapping Miss Mansoor, 19, and her mother Parveen Mansoor, 39, in the early hours of July 27 in Salford.
Webb has always been too lenient. If you watch the Chile-Brazil WC game last month in the 1st minute Fernandinho goes straight through Alexis Sanchez.. no yellow card so the Chileans take a free shot at Neymar and injured his knee.

Okay, not really a Man United player, that was a 'Fox News-esque' smear attempt, haha!
oh man, what a waste of talent. I remember Morrison being equally impressive as Pogba in Uniteds youth system and everybody expected him to become a fantastic player at some point down the road. Lots of talent, had all the tools ... and then everything went downhill quickly because of the problems off the field. When Ferguson sold him, he said that he desperately needed to get away from Manchester and the bad influence of "wrong friends" ... but it seems he never got his act together. What a shame.

You've got to have a few screws loose to threaten to throw acid in your girlfriend's face.
I'm not an expert on girlfriends as a married man, but I dont think tossing acid in their faces is a courtship practice that most women would accept.
And now, Jimmy Carr:

damn I wanted Vermaelen. We need another defender. United's close on Vidal I hear but will probably give them Kagawa in part of the deal. And close on Di Maria which confuses me. I don't really see him at WB or CM. So why get him?

news to me. In fact, Kagawa seems eager to stay. Posted today on the club website:

Shinji Kagawa has vowed he and Manchester United will use the disappointment of last season as a "trigger" to improve this term.
The Japan midfielder made 14 league starts in 2013/14 but was not entirely satisfied with his contribution as the Reds finished outside the European places in seventh. He believes team-work and honest endeavour is the key for both him and United to achieve success under new manager Louis van Gaal.
"When I look back, last season was tough," Kagawa told ManUtd.jp. "I will use that frustration as a trigger to express myself this season, challenging myself to do new things. I'll work hard to achieve goals and results. I'm really enjoying myself, it's my third year with United and I know my team-mates very well.
"We've learned a lesson from last season. It is important for us to stick together and work towards the same goal. We can do much better if we can bring out the best of ourselves. We want to keep succeeding in the manager's new system, and we want to win trophies. That's what the fans expect."
