We're very aware that our Canadian customers are currently paying a high import tax when purchasing the OnePlus One. Thus, it’s inspiring to see many Canadian fans still purchasing our device despite these high costs.

Currently, the only shipping option is via DHL from our United States warehouse. It’s unfeasible costs-wise for OnePlus to open a Canadian warehouse, but we’d still like to to help however we can. Some have suggested on these forums that USPS will charge more initially for shipping, but less taxes and less overall. We want to test this suggestion. Tomorrow, 100 Canadian orders will go out using USPS instead of DHL. USPS is more expensive than DHL, but we’ll cover the extra costs during this test.

Stay tuned for the results! Hopefully we can save our Canadian customers a buck or two.

I doubt that'll be the case. Canadapost. By law they are entitled to charge the same $10 brokerage + GST (or HST in some provinces). The only thing being saved is the $5 at door collection fee DHL charges and Canadapost having far superior tracking and delivery options. Although I guess the thing is with Canadapost they rarely ever actually leverage duties on packages I've ordered so that may be a savings right there.

Arg! I actually just bought a set of Xiaomi Piston 2.0s and these look fantastic. The Bullets actually look like they use a very similar cavity design as the Pistons. I wonder if they'll use the same magnet and beryllium diaphragm design as well? Interesting they managed to add Camera trigger to the remote. That's a nice package if it sounds good at $15 USD.

The only way I'll get a pair is if they reduce the ridiculous shipping charges to Canada.

At least for the accessories there are third party re-sellers that put it out for near identical prices with free ship.

They would have to be pretty amazing to beat the sound of the Pistons. They sound better in my opinion than some earbuds I have bought that cost 10x more.

It was analogy that Android phones are hyundais while Apple phones were mercedes. Features may be the same, but you'd still want mercedes because it's hyundais are cheaply made. His reference here is in this thread is just trolling. In anyways, reported.

Its a cheap alternative to a "flagship" or "luxury" smart phone, be it android or iphone. Much like hyundais, which provide "luxury" feel for like half the price of benz, cadillacs etc.
