I know Don Cherry is a legend, blah blah blah, but when I was little I thought he was mentally challenged. He is like listening to nails on a blackboard. Annoying.

There's a reason why we brought in SOB. Problem is he's just plain not good enough to be out against Thornton/Burns.

Flames had a perfectly fine period, problem is they can't really elevate their game much higher, they are going to need some bounces to go their way to get back into this.

I thought they were ok, just need to generate more scoring chances.

Yes, agreed to both. Was quick to post before I seen the replay. Thought it was high originally.

Pretty entertaining period I though.
Chances were 7-5 San Jose, but I though we had a few very good shifts. Just need to get our shots through better, too many blocks and deflections.

These are the Flames I was expecting this season. If they stay disciplined, focused, give full effort, play their best game AND get a few lucky bounces they will not get blown out.
Also, why did the Flames ever get rid of Scott Hannan?

We will see. We got off to a great start but I have a feeling reality will rear its ugly head this season.

Ya, when he fought the puck off on Thornton then outmuscled him to get into the slot he really wasn't asserting himself... Probably should have gone through another few 6'5" players and then he will look more aggressive out there for you.

I try my hardest to not pay attention to him anymore, he's just not relevant in my eyes.

Some questionable decisions moving the puck. Ramo looks good. Need to settle down and play our game.

That's not gonna fly with me. It's NOT his first year playing top 2, he did it for quite a few games last year, playing over 25 minutes several games. He's better than this, there are no excuses. I hate to say this but he's not playing well and not NEAR to his ability. Good news, hopefully it can only get better.

-Wideman made a dumb play going to the corner instead of the front of the net on the first goal and Russell is ok at passing. He also thinks dustin byfuglin is fat and he never got into Seth Jones.

Knocked on Wideman for heading to the corner on the first goal instead of taking the guy streaking to the front. Complimented Russel's heads-up passing out of the zone in the first.
