A young player with some size, grit and speed who, most importantly, wants to play in Calgary? Near absolute best case scenario you can get trading a future 4th round pick.
Love that even if they're going through the rebuild it looks like Feaster still wants this to be a team that isn't fun to play against. The other teams may come away with the W more often than not, but if you can make it so other teams don't look forward to playing the Flames that would be impressive.
Still got a bit of a way to go, a big hitting defenseman and a forward like Clarkson or Horton would be a great UFA period though, if not a pipe-dream.
Eh, Lombardi was a good scorer in the Q as well, and put up a couple decent point totals. If Poirier tops out at Matthew Lombardi skill in the NHL, that's actually a pretty decent outcome for him. People except way too much from these kids.

Not to drag this further off topic, but as MMF pointed out I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more out of Poirier than Lombardi amounted to.

Yup and looking at Lombos stats from 2002, when he 130 points 2 other players had over 100. Just shows how much this type of player can help his teammates be better. Also don't see poirier getting that kind of support next year, but anything can happen, especially in juniors
Holy crap 7k calories, 9 meals a day. You essentially spend a large part of your waking day cooking and eating. Gaudreau needs to learn to cook/eat from Galliardi this summer.

I'm really curious how the team is going to come together. Where do these new guys fit and how does this affect some of the young guys we were so enamored with at the end of last season?
This is one of those deals we see other teams make and we all sit here stunned saying "That's all it took to acquire _____?!"
Nice to be on the other side for once. Fantastic trade and good signing.
sums up how i feel

Never wanted to see this guy end up in a Flames jersey.
whats the story?

This is a good deal simply because this guy used to eat us for breakfast when he played for Colorado. I see him as an energy guy, however he was playing on Thornton's line in the playoffs – does that mean he has top 6 potential?
Great money value. Short term deal should see him work hard for a pay raise next season.
Oops I got off topic. Just wanted to say I've had Galiardi on my radar for a very long time. He's a player you'll notice does a lot of the little things that make a BIG difference. Any one think of a good Calgary flames nickname for the new kid yet?
The Sharks fans seem to have referred to him as him Gally
There is no story....i outlined right after that guys initial remark that everything he said couldnt be further off. TJ is a great guy who will have no off ice issues as mentioned.
As for nicknames....work around the last name
