You can do anything in green and white!

They're setting things up nicely for a Riders Grey Cup coronation at Mosaic. They're going to win it all this year if the CFL has to completely ruin its credibility to do it.

The piss poor officiating in the CFL is getting tiresome. Bet there won't even be a fine for that headshot.

Roughing the passer is so inconsistently called. Personally, I think anything other than late hits or illegal hits (that would be called if hitting any other player) should be called. It's football, not being able to hit the QB defeats the purpose. The 'strike zone' is awful, especially because you can hit the QB in the thigh and get called for a low hit.

Riders eek out the win. Don't look like a division leading team.

Edmonton was getting away with crazy holds all game long on their read option plays as well. Reffing is just bad.

Yep two straight wins because of some stupid coaching decisions by an opponent. How lucky can this team get? Eskimos could have won that game. Amazing that Kavis Reed is coaching this team and Kerry Joseph is still playing. Makes you wonder why the Edmonton Eskimos are the worst team in the CFL.

I agree with someone that Mike Reilly is going to be a good QB for them if he stays healthy. He can run, he can throw and not afraid.

You know that your side of the argument is in the wrong when you cling to a false equivalency. 2 wrongs don't make a right. A fumble caused by a clearly illegal hit in the last 2 minutes or so of the game iced the win for the Riders.

Same thing happened to them last year vs Toronto. No sympathy from anyone at the time. They lost the game on that TERRIBLE attempt at short yardage. Just because its the Riders the conspiracy theorists will be out in full force. CFL officiating is terrible and I'll leave at that.

I watched it. Didn't see any holding - just the Stamps whipping green butt. You, on the other hand, didn't watch today's game, or you would've seen your boys need the stripes to help them beat Edmonton.

Watch the next couple weeks, and you'll see how a real football team handles the Eskies. In the meantime, you best get your rubbers and lube up nice - your cousin's not gonna be in the mood all night.

I'm just ticked because the zebras took away a potentially exciting finish. Maybe the Eskies tie it with a FG and force OT or score a TD to pull off the upset.

However, Drake is right, the Joseph fumble followed by Reilly throwing that pick in the endzone is ultimately what doomed Edmonton today.

Definitely. They could have been ahead by 5. Reilly was throwing well and even running well on that drive. That's why I was shocked to see Joseph on a 1st down. They tried Joseph with the same situation and I believed he was only successful once. Most of the time he fumbles the ball. The guy is done. Eskie fans should demand Reed gone with all his boneheaded decision. Not that I care coz I am a not an Eskimo fan nor Riders fan. I would have wish Eskimos beat the Riders today.

Get Reed a crying towel, in his post-game interview he was whining his QB has "taken a lot of hits" and is basically implying that there should have more roughing the passer penalties called. Two things Reed, if you don't want your QB taking hits call less read option plays or else he'll turn into the second coming of Pierce and get a damn OL that can protect him. The way those clowns are running things in Edmonton, Reilly will end up on the 9-game very soon.

Sometimes I like to go back and look at things from games so I want to bring this up from Thursday in Montreal, Harris didn't get a SINGLE carry when BC had the lead in the third. Now that Buono is upstairs good old Chapdelaine is backing to his bonehead/vanilla play-calling. Maybe its time someone kicked him in the ass like Buono did once before for his bonehead/vanilla play-calling.

I don't disagree...

...that being said, the hit on Reilly was helmet to helmet and should have been a unnecessary roughness penalty. It was that blatant and when you watch the replay the ref is looking right at it and kept the flag in his pocket. An obvious missed call.

The Emperors have no clothes. They were lucky to beat two bad football teams. Should be 5-3.

I hate the Riders but I watched the game and didn't see any illegal hit on Reilly that the ref didn't throw a flag other than helmet-to-helmet hit. It is football and Reilly likes to run around so if someone hit him, that's tough. I agree that helmet-to-helmet was blatant and I cannot believed the ref missed it. It's not like he wasn't watching the play.

That is beyond stupid if you ask me. Glen Suitor was on a Saskatchewan radio today and said the CFL is looking into the command center having the authority to start calling penalties after what happened on Saturday in Edmonton.

Coaches being able to challenge for penalties would be ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. It would make a 3 hour game now a 4 hour game or even longer. If its the command center they would be "buzzing the ref" constantly as well. And why bother having referees on the field anymore? How about investing in the officiating instead of something that is beyond moronic?

Whether he is or isnt...he is simply reporting what he understands the league is doing.

As to the idea, its ridiculous IMO. Yes there was a blatent missed call in the Rider game, and it very well could have decided the outcome. That happens though...in ALL sports. As mentioned, train the officials better if you want to throw money at the perceived problem, dont involve even more of them. Particularly on calls that are almost always subjective.

Nah it only happens when the riders play, the league wants the to win the cup every year Hence why they have won so many grey cups in the last hundred years.

Probably would make officiating better if there was some punishment to the officials for botched calls.
