Hey guys, I apologize to those of you who haven't gotten invites. I have been trying to send them out but it wasn't working yesterday. I will try again when I get home late tonight to send out another round.

I really need to look at all the data maps before I make my city.
Industry, water... all in the wrong places.
I've made a terrible mistake.

I'll let you know once I can even log on to the US West server.
I managed to play for a bit, got desynced/crashed. Then it's been busy since...and connection problems all over the place.

So i've got my city to 230,000 people.
As you guys mentioned, my income has been fluctuating all over the place. I have no idea why. From 10k per hour to -2k the next hour. I also had a casino that was losing 38k per day and is now making profit.
I think you guys are also right about needing three or four cities. One needs to be the industrial center that can collect garbage, provide power etc for sure. These items take up so much room, then add in universities and those type of things, it really doesn't leave you with a ton of room. I will have to experiment with that.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to give it a week or so, experiment with the different set ups and let EA sort their #### out and get back together once we've got an idea of how we want/can do this.

Me and my buddy were playing Reflection Atoll last night on Europe East 2 and were having lots of fun. He was creating an ore mining/industrial city and I was doing a res/com gambling city. I used him for sewage and garbage, he used me for commercial.
We realized after about an hour we badly need an education city so one of us will be doing that.

Yes, absolutely. I have all you guys on my friends list now I definitely plan to set up more regions with you when things have settled down.

I would definately be up for a more organized region. There is not enough room for all I need in my plot right now.

Also I got attacked by 3 giant lizards in a 30 minute period.
I had a hazmat building destroyed on my fire station and all of my city hall modules destroyed, but it doesn't seem like you can bulldoze just those sections. You have to bulldoze the whole fire station or the whole city hall which seems kind of ######ed to me.

Go into edit mode for the building. You should be able to bulldoze them there.

My city was at 90k and is down to 50k and bleeding money as all my water and resources are almost tapped out.
I agree that trying to be everything is a bad idea, would have been a better idea for me to just go all power or something.

Now that I know whats going on im going to try and save up a bunch of money and start demoing everything and go for a clean power producing city with a 30k population that's sustainable.
Either that or hope that we decide to reset the region haha.

So on a random city I played around with, managed to make 9k+ consistently with no real fluctuation as most of my money comes from my residential, ranging anywhere from low to high wealth. Most of the money has gone into the big stuff like Nuclear Plant, and I'm currently running into water troubles...
Going to pass 70K pops but would have done so earlier were it not for my uneducated sims blowing up the reactor.
This feels like a farming city basically, bring in consistent cash to fund my other endeavors in the region.
And with 600K+ Simoleons, I think I have lots of room to play with. Time for my dream Gladiator Coliseum metropolis to come true.

I have built my city of 50K, high tech industry and a university. I am running a constant deficit, but my global processor sales have been keeping me afloat. My city is having real big water issues, which is really hampering my ability to expand. My next one will definately be better planned out.
Btw I can research a bunch of cool upgrade techs for buildings in the region. I have researched upgraded wind turbines already and I am working on clean oil tech at power plants right now. What do we want researched next? (Titan Gorge)

I put my city next to yours, and I don't know how to check or whether that's the case, but all I know is that I had crippling traffic problems in my commercial areas when I had like 6000 people. Wondering if there's some regional commercial demand and things like that.
I threw down some landmarks and a pro stadium (lol, worst investment ever), and things are looking good!
I tried to buy anything from the cities around me, and I guess there wasn't anyone offering anything, because nothing was available. At the same time every time I tried to volunteer, it said that I wasn't connected to the city or something. Not too sure, might be a server issue or somethign like that.
