Said this in the PGT, but listening to Shorthouse in the couple mins worth of highlights posted in the PGT compared to how I heard them on SN West, and its like night and day. Much clearer, seemingly more organized, catching more things within the game etc.
Along with the production value of the SN Pacific being much more polished (camera angles and replays, no audio sync issues etc) makes me a bit jealous that the Flames don't have something that can hold a candle to that for their regional package.

Isn't that the issue though? A PBP man shouldn't have to be muted. If they do in order to enjoy the game more, than they're not doing their job well enough, or the listener for some reason is just bothered by them. How many have muted other team commentators?
I have no idea how Sportsnet can't fix their audio sync issue though. They really love to live up their bush league stereotype.

Having been in in Victoria and watching the game here, I have to say their commentators are quite boring. Understandably, being a hockey message board, we are all guilty of being over-analytical and enjoy nitpicking facets of the game.
Kerr brings an element of emotion and enthusiasm that our fan base has been accused of lacking at times. He reminds me of watching Ed Whalen, and to me that's not a bad thing. And like it or not, he's a knowledgeable hockey guy.

I get it...seriously. Many of you don't like Rob Kerr. The fact that you feel the need to constantly bash him on an internet forum is plain pathetic. At least he has personality and isn't like the rest of those talking heads out there.
I know...its the CP motto...Haters going to hate.

Yes, God forbid we discuss Robb Kerr in a Robb Kerr discussion thread.
He's not a good play-by-play guy when he has such a hard time following the play. Hockey knowledge, personality, enthusiasm are all great things to have but take a huge backseat to the ability to actually follow the play-by-play.
I've never really had a huge issue with any PBP personality until Kerr. Now, thanks in part to his huge screeching voice crack when excited, I try to mute the game as much as possible which I feel really takes away from the game to me.

Play by play and color guys are for fans that have no idea what is going on and need a little help with their hockey knowledge.
For me, most of the time the play by play and color guy is just background noise. Quality camera men are more important than the play by play. Likewise a good producer who knows when to cut to and from action, side line reporters etc is more important than the voice talent.

Could not be further from the truth. Great PBP guys add to action. Kerr just isn't that.

You gotta love Rob Kerr's enthusiasm.

I don't mind him at all. None of them are perfect, that's for sure.

I love Kerr now. He just needed time to settle in. I am sure that he will keep improving.
