Flames playing like the backup is in net (again).
And Irving isn't all that much better than any of the other backup pluggers they've had in net in the past 6 years.
I was really hoping that we were done playing down to our opponents...
Wishful thinking I guess.
It just bugs me that we can drive possession against the league leaders, yet be chasing against the Jackets. But hopefully that changes next period.. at least we were a bit better in the last five minutes. And ugh, again making a poor special teams of an opposing team look good.. Irving was totally left out to dry, they had all the time and space to make that cross-ice pass.. little habits of previous seasons I see creeping into this one.
Also Comeau needs to quit giving the puck away like a grenade if he's going to play on the 3rd line.
Good period Cervenka. And Hudler/Tangs/Iggy, make it happen.
I like Jackman, he is at worst average at what he is suppose to be, a 4th line forward who adds size and grit. There are far bigger problems with this team than Jackman and Comeau, that is for sure.
This game will be a big indication of what this team is all about. Will be they be satisfied with good outings against CHI and DET and let up against a basement dweller? Playoff teams do not lose games like this, especially when they are behind the eight ball and looking for sustained momentum.
