Extremely loose affiliation with a group does not mean the group caused him to commit crimes or actively endorses them.
Heck, the main piece of evidence that I heard that he was associated with the MRA movement is that he was a member of an online forum called 'PUAhate', which is short for 'pick up artist'. This isn't an MRA site. It's a site for trying to expose scams for that genre.
