They're not saying, but he wants to play:

Quote:
He was asked if the final two games of the season — Friday against the visiting B.C. Lions (7 p.m., TSN, AM770) and the following week in Edmonton — were an audition of sorts for the West Semifinal.

“I would think so,” Tate said. “I would hope so.”

Head coach John Hufnagel said he has an idea of how he will handle the quarterback shuffle, but wasn’t willing to share it with the media.

“I’ve talked to the quarterbacks and came up with a preliminary plan,” Hufnagel said. “We’ll see how things go in practice and finalize it before we play the game.”

All that being said, yes tate should get some serious time the next 2 weeks and see if he is ready to go when things get real in the West semi.

Tate will not start vs BC from what I understand but he is definitely getting into the game. There is a chance he starts next week in Edmonton.

From what I've been told, they have had plays ready for him since their game in Winnipeg. If he doesn't start in Edmonton, its unlikely he starts the playoff game but again that doesn't mean he won't play.

10-6 is not a bad record. I don't think the record would be much better with Tate, when you play BC 3-4 times, 4 games out East etc.

Tate will play the first half on Friday and looks like Lewis might be out:

JermainFranklin@TSNJFranklin

#stampeders Tate will start the game on Friday. Hufnagel said Tate and Glenn will split the game, one half each

Al Cameron@AllenCameronCH

Nik Lewis looking doubtful for Friday, says Hufnagel. Back issues #Calstampeders #CFL

DLine Anwar Stewart won the Defensive Player of the Week after his 4 QB sack against the BC Lions last week.

Huff also said yesterday that he wants all 3 QBs to get into the game on Friday night. I'd like to see Mitchell get more than a series or 2.

If Hamilton doesn't win on Thursday, it won't matter.

Ricky isnt playing for Toronto...so Hamilton should have an easier time as long as Frank doesnt show up.

A lot is being made of Cornish maybe breaking Kwong's record, but how many games did Kwong play when he set the record? Now, the season is 18 games.

It was also a predominately running league. With the prevalence of passing today it makes it just as tough if not tougher.

/edit Im wrong...seems like number of carries is close to the same on average as Jons. I should check before I open my mouth.

Well you're not totally wrong, if he has a similar amount of carries he did it in 2 less games.

Considering all the injuries to key guys, one would have to say that the season was a tremendous success.

Glenn did all that could be asked of a backup, Cornish has a year for the ages, the WR core is as good as any in a long time, the defense even had its moments though there are some obvious holes there. Parades was money and Maver was solid, the return game was as good as its ever been too.

Tremendous job by Huf and his staff to keep it all together and have the team playing well heading into the semis.
