In all seriousness though we all know you could skate circles around that nancy stienbag. Any chance of you guys squaring off in a one on one pond hockey, fan sponsored event?

I got my money on Steinbag with Walker whining about it being "rigged" afterwards.

Does Pat take out the pent up aggression he must be suppressing from the radio during the games?

So long as he's not frequenting those questionable massage parlors down on center street.....that could be the cause of more stress then release!

Is Bryn going to sign up too? I'd like to ask him a few things.

It's too bad TSN hasn't set up shop here in Calgary yet as that will be the only thing could get this poor excuse for a radio station to a listenable level. Thankfully with a large data plan on my iPhone and the TuneIn radio app I don't have to suffer through it too much anymore.
Before Richards jumped ship it wasn't too bad. Since then however things are just unbearable. I've heard one guy (I think Lauderdale) do updates that seems decent. I like Pat on Overtime, but that's only because it's in comparrison to the drunk callers I think. Bryn is unbelievably bad. How this guy has a job as a professional broadcaster in a big market like Calgary is truly mind boggling. He sounds like he has no clue about anything.
The morning show I won't speak of because I gave up listening when Richards left. I have come to enjoy Peter Mahr doing his broadcasts, but his 'um's' and 'ah's' during anything other than calling a game has me changing the station instantly. The guy sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles.
I am obviously a Bruins fan first, but I love to see the Flames win because the city just feels happier. I still listen from time to time because sometimes it's just easier for a quick drive to turn on the radio than to plug in the iPhone and launch the app etc..
If it were up to me, Bryn would be gone, Rome would be gone, there would be none of this 'Best of Fan 960' to fill air time, more live programming on the weekends and the announcers would not only be knowledgable, but funny and even controversial.
I think the main thing the folks at the top of the Fan960 need to do is tune in to different stations from time to time and see how it's done. Try listening to hockey talk from Toronto or even Montreal - its surprisingly good. My next car will have Bluetooth and fumbling with cables won't be an issue and then I really won't listen to anything other than the game broadcasts. I suspect it's going to go that way for a lot of people as data plans get better and the Fan better realize that before it's too late.

ya perhaps. Its a shame though. Whenever he does a guest spot i'm always interested in what Loubo has to say. I like his insight.

Ya, I don't care what people think of his voice or style, but Loubardias knows hockey better than most... has an amazing knowledge of other sports as well.

absolutly he knows where guys played Jr in a instant. Same as football he knows what college. I realize he has a laptop in front of him but i'm sure if you were talking shop in person he would not be much different.

To me Pete l is too quick to bring stuff up -I'd find it hard to believe that he is looking up stuff in the middle of a conversation....

I actually think Loubo has really good interviewing skills - he asks a lot of smart questions.

I don't think anyone can deny Loubardias's hockey knowledge. It's his delivery that I think holds him back. His voice just isn't radio friendly. If he could lose that annoying twang or whatever you wanna call it, I think he'd make an excellent color guy.

Yeah. Griffiths is like the anti-Loubo. He seems to know dick about much, but he has a decent enough radio voice.
I'd hate to hear Loubo full time, but I'd have to agree, he's an upgrade on Griffiths.

I maintain that if the Dan Tencer rumors were true, Tencer and Steinberg would been a great pairing. I'm sure Tencer would would still been pimping the boys up north, but at least he's interesting to listen to, and can form an opinion and stand by it.

Man..Bryn is soo bad! I'm tired of that old man "sighing" each time he wants to say something..and I remember last week, Eric D was on the show and talking about how the Oilers could benefit with a player LIKE Iginla on their roster to teach the kids, and Bryn kept on going off how about the Iginla would never go to the Oilers and the Flames would never trade him, not even letting Eric finish his point...I had to pull over and sigh.
"sigh" "sigh" Seems to me...(listen to him do it from now on)

If he was trying to do the former then you are right, they aren't similar, but if he was doing the latter, then his comparison is fine.

He was not comparing the acts themselves, he was comparing the impact of the scandals. I disagree with you that the comparison is fine, they don't belong in the same conversation, whether or not he was comparing the actual acts. I'm sure he understands the difference and wasn't trying to suggest a real similarity.
It's just frustrating as I had stopped listening to his show months ago, but as I was going to Tuesday's game thought I'd listen to maybe gain some insight into that night's match up - clearly I was wrong as the last thing you'll get from Bryn is true insight. As stated in this thread many times before it's just "sighs" and "don't ya think" and insight and opinions similar to that of the very
casual fan.
