The Jankovic match is over.. so Raonic coming up. Hope SNET ONE switches over live, they've been all over the place today.

EDIT: Raonic-Fish has started .. looks like Sportsnet is asleep at the switch.

Just got home in time to see Milos break Fish and take the first set. Good start again!

Roanic is not playing well at all, only 4 aces in the first set. He called for the trainer down 4-5 abdominal/back injury. Here's a sexy picture

http://twitpic.com/49bjjt

But Fish is just awful, totally panicked. When Milos had break point, Fish hit the worse slice backhand you'll ever see. Didn't even make it TO the net.

Good to win the first set but Milos looks really weak... long way to go.

I'm good on the sexy picture but I'm glad to hear he's winning regardless . I did see that awful backhand and Milos had a little trouble even with that last service game but he pulled out 2 or 3 aces at the right time.

Woo! He pulled it out! Barely.

He plays a kid younger than him on Tuesday. Ryan Harrison of the US.

Ya that was great, he really gritted it out. Didn't look at his best but still beat a pretty highly ranked player.

I remember something about the shoulder in Acapulco but I haven't heard much about this injury, hopefully nothing serious because he has a great opportunity to go head to head with Federer and double up his ATP points with a win over this unseeded kid.

another upset!

[32] Phil Kohlscheiber [GER] def. [4] Robin Soderling 7-6, 6-4.

#4, #5 and #6 now all out of Nadal's half of the draw!

Dr. Ivo on fire!

Ivo Karlovic (HRV) def. [28] Gilles Simon (FRA)

He could go quite far if he keeps this up. This half of the draw is wide open. In the 4th round, he will play the Spaniard Montagnes who upset Almagro earlier.

------------

Order of Play is out for Tuesday.

Raonic is the 4th singles match on Stadium 2 so another night match around 7PM MT.
Sportsnet ONE again has scheduled tennis for the entire day. Who knows what they're going to do!

Nice to see Karlo with the win. I was able to watch most of the match and he looked solid. Del Potro is regaining his form at a good time, especially with the clay season not too far away.

Djokovic over Gulbis 6-0, 6-1...in 54 minutes...wow, Djokovic is hands down the best player on Tour in 2011 so far.

The ranking system frustrates me because he absolutely should be ranked number 1 right now (IMO). I understand the points system, but it's too bad Djokovic isn't being rewarded for his solid play.

I'll have to disagree. Nadal holds 3 of the 4 grand slams and 3 of the 9 Masters 1000s. Djokovic is undefeated this season but he holds only 1 grand slam and none of the Masters 1000s. Can't be number 1 by playing well in a few months. Must do it all year. He needs to beat Nadal head-to-head. First step towards #1 is beating both Federer and Nadal this week.

They're just flying through the schedule today.. Raonic is up next on Stadium 2 after the Gasquet match which is now in the 2nd set. He could be up in an hour or so.

Also Sportsnet ONE is LIVE right now so it looks like they're on track

That's fair. Sometimes, but not always, I wish there was a way to wipe the slate once a new tennis season gets under way. I thought Djokovic might make some ground on that number one spot with Nadal out with injury, but looking at the rankings, you would never really know:

1 - Rafael Nadal Spain 12390.00
2 - Roger Federer Switzerland 7965.00
3 - Novak Djokovic Serbia 7800.00

With that said, I certainly wouldn't want to take anything away from Nadal, who was ridiculous last year for the reasons that you mentioned above.

It's a catch 22 for me. However, if Djokovic does beat them this season, he will reap the benefits down the road. I'd say the number two spot is reachable.

I think if Djokovic places higher than Federer this week, he gets #2 right away because Federer is still serving two penalties.

Interesting recent blog post that, somewhat, addresses the issue:

Raonic digs out of 0-40 to hold serve then breaks to win the 2nd set.
This has been a great match, both kids slugging it out. 3rd set should be wonderful.

This Harrison kid has great game for an 18 year old. He's going to go places too. This could be the beginning of a pretty good rivalry.
