Funny that my no signal zones have remained unchanged for over a year:
1. Pho Hoai noodle house in Chinatown
2. Bear & Kilt on Stephen Ave (and pretty much any basement along 8th ave)
3. Aspen Glen
Oh well.. overall I'm still pretty happy

Has anyone had any troubles with wind dropping 4g on the Stampede Grounds? Is this due to saturation?

I thought wind was still on HSPA+ which is 3.5g or something.
Saturation would likely cause that.

Yup I had no data all day sunday. FML.
You think we could call and complain to credit a day's service?

GF is on Fido and had the same issues. Has to be saturation.

That's not the point I would imagine. You are supposed to have service when you are paying a contract for service.

The contract is to finance the device.
Sports events, concerts, large gatherings put huge demands on mobility networks (network saturation). This is commonplace all over the world.

Well if you want to get into the contract then im sure there is some fine print that states their can be minor interuptions. I expect better than 99% uptime but less than 100%.
It is an unreasonable expectation to have 100% uptime.

Well, that's great for you guys if you find it acceptable. I don't. If I'm paying, I want a signal when I need it. Bottom line.

How much more would you be willing to pay for 100% uptime though? As opposed to 99% or even 99.8%?
That's the thing with Wind; I signed up my son knowing with fewer towers there was going to be more issues with loss of signal. For me the cost benefit of better coverage was not worth it for him. We pay $33 per month for what would cost $70-80 on another carrier. Wasn't worth it. However if I could have gotten him onto my grandfathered plan I have that costs me $50; we may have considered it.
I just look at buying a discounted rate service with the understanding that the service might reflect the price I'm paying.

I bet your contract or terms of service states the equivalent of best effort, which is entirely reasonable in the commercial space.

Well, that's the thing...I've never gone to use my Rogers phone and had no service. Ever. So while there may be down time I don't notice, when I've needed it, it has always been there.
I'm sure the contract does state down time...never read it. I mean really...why reads those things?

Just because it didnt affect you it does happen. So is 99.8% good enough for you and everyone should not whine or do you want to pay more for better uptime

lol...yeah, we should pay more for up time on a contract we pay for. Sorry...I think if we all expected more, we would get more, for less. But hey, if you're happy with what you get, so be it.

I had to switch to Rogers a couple months back, with heading back into the field the limitations of Wind forced me back to one of the big 3.
I've lost signal with Rogers. Several times. I'm on one bar of LTE right now. The yogurt isle of the North Hill Safeway has booted completely me twice.
I'd say in each respective advertised areas Winds signal was much more consistent.

Have found Bell, despite using their antennas on Telus' towers to give me poor reception in what I imagined to be easily coverage like by Central Memorial. Also time to time losing signal completely with multiple different Bell phones in Royal Abbey despite my girlfriend not having issues with either Rogers or Fido.

My 99% uptime within home coverage zones in the past 3 years with Wind is perfectly acceptable for the price I pay vs the service they provide.
You let me know if you find a company that guarantees 100% uptime.
