Cooley is putting up video game number in the AHL, I think he could handle some NHL starts.

Maybe.

If another team is dealing with some injuries perhaps Kuzmenko is worth a mid to mid-late pick. Frankly, given the way the start of the season has gone, he has no value, or very little. Although he has had some appealing stretches, the flaws are likely too big to ignore for any GM who is serious about putting a competitive team on the ice.

I think the Flames either take what they can get at/near the deadline, or just ride it out and let him go at seasons end. Itvwas probably still a worth while experiment. If Kuzmenko were able to continue his play from the end of last year, the Flames could have gotten another appealing pick but I think the chatter about him scoring at a 90 point pace in the last 15-30 games, or whatever it was, of last year was a bit of smoke and mirrors and a healthy dose of optimism.

If Pelletier is able to give the team some good mins, Kuzmenko can get used to watching from the rafters as far as I’m concerned.

No matter how polished or poised these guys seem, they are still dumbass teenage boys, with all the regular dumbass crap that we go thru at that age, with the added pressure of being a pro athlete, under a microscope.

Given the conditions, Syd’s ability to stay consistent in the limelight so young, it truly amazing.
Celebrini is your nephew??

Bedard just looks physically less developed than many other previous #1s. I'd put money on a physically less developed player to eventually physically develop over a physically developed player who physically pushes guys his own age around (Ex. Yakupov).

I misread this at first and thought we were talking to Gavin McKenna's Dad (since Bedard is McKenna's Cousin...)

But Celebrini is a great player. Would have been awesome to snag a player like that.

Thanks. He’s a good kid.

For all the crazy hockey parents out there (myself included), knowing him is an interesting lesson in what it ‘takes’. He truly is wired differently when it comes to sports.

Nothing against Bedard, he's going to be just fine.
After watching this breakdown of Celebrini’s game, I’m inclined to agree.

Spoiler!

Already playing a complete game, his defensive reads are outstanding, and his engine never quits. He’s leading the league in puck battles won per game, and controlled zone entries. Guy is shaping up to be a Peter Forsberg compared to Bedard’s Patrick Kane.

Out of thanks, but great post. I read somewhere about the battles won, but I didn’t know about the entries. Excellent stuff.

He’s gonna be putting up 100 plus points in his prime, while playing a tight defensive game.

Very cool!! Hoping he has a long successful career. I think everyone on here would be supportive of Uncle getting in his ear about playing for the Flames! Who knows maybe after Makar signs and the new stadium opens

Only half kidding.

Brad was interested at one point, and the rumoured offer was poor.. correct.
These were just talks however, nothing concrete and nothing has come of it obviously.

Things could have changed, I have no updates for now.

With that said, both diss and sec have connections as well and I’m not discounting anything they hear, in fact I encourage hearing it.
I’m by no means denying what he heard, I only share what I’m told.

Already better in his own end than McD.
