He and his supporters. It's not all Russians but a large % do believe him to be anointed and follow him blindly.

So you agree that the only reason they are accepted is because they are Russia's neighbors?

We believe it's real threat. The whole point of creating NATO was to keep Russia on check. The whole point of accepting eastern European countries was to get to Russian borders, so to be able to keep Russia in check even tighter. I don't buy that NATO is purely defensive because offense is best defense. NATO has a history of doing things as they see fit, rather than according to law. USA has a history of interfering into other nations, such as Iraq bombing. Or operation Condor. We sure are afraid of a country that can declare that we have weapons of mass destruction and bomb us out, if they so wish. Do I believe that US/NATO wanted to shoot at us? No. But I do believe they want to keep us at the gunpoint

####, every person who is against pipelines and in country refining hopefully is paying attention.
Still probably wouldn't change their minds. They seem to want to cut of their nose to spite their face.
We just have to point to Germany to show what happens when you have unrealistic targets and have to rely on imports from places like Russia.

3rd Pansir captured in 10 days. Saw a count yesterday that showed Ukraine is +95 vehicles net since the start of the war.

There was already an energy crisis in Germany before the invasion. The crisis would be much worse if they banned Russian gas, and the level of suffering Germans sustained by the measures would not be matched in Russia.

Sure, it's just a long term failure of their energy policy. They probably should have seen it coming...

Retaliate against the soldiers encroaching your territory. Russian cities, with Russian civilians shouldn't be the target.

Come on man, it's a little more complicated than that. But if that's how you want to look at it, someone punches you in the mouth, you'll punch their kid in the mouth?

The USA has a history of interfering in third world world countries. It's not assassinating politicians in Russia - they leave that to the Russians themselves. And Russia clearly does have weapons of mass destruction - thousands of them - and yet, that hasn't led to NATO attacking in the decades for which that's been true, including when Russia was at its weakest and most vulnerable post-collapse.
Seems to me that the only instances in the past two-plus decades of tensions escalating in Europe such that there was any risk whatsoever of a military conflict between NATO and Russia has been when Putin has instigated those tensions. NATO has otherwise been totally irrelevant, because unless Russia starts doing crazy things, NATO is essentially a dormant entity.

On a freezing winter morning, Europe woke up to a shock. Russia had cut off gas to Ukraine. Companies started reporting drops in supplies via the transit country. Calls to reduce energy dependence on Moscow resonated across the continent.
That was in January 2006. Sixteen years on, through another supply crisis and then Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the European Union is much in the same place: plotting ways to cut reliance on its single biggest gas supplier and bracing for a stoppage of flows as Russia wages war on Ukraine.

Quote:
German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said reducing dependency on Russia won’t happen overnight, though the war in Ukraine has heightened the resolve. “We’ve gotten ourselves into quite a corner there,” he told Deutschlandfunk radio on March 2. “But now we want to get out of it.”

As long as you agree Russia has a history of using and abusing their neighbours.
