5 min car ride from both.

Does anyone know what is opening in the old Mac's in Crowfoot? They have torn down a lot of the old building and it looks like they are renovating it for anew business. Hopefully it is something awesome.

I've been trying to figure that out also. They just installed a drive-through window, so I'm thinking some sort of fast food is likely. Most of the chains already have nearby restaurants though. My current guess is the Starbucks (the one beside Edo) relocating into a more prominent space with a drive through.

It also doesn't look like a big enough building for a full-size restaurant (eg I don't think a chick-fil-a fits there) but maybe something like a Firehouse Subs might.

Starbucks was actually my initial thought as well but I'm really hoping it is something else.

A 'yycburg' opened near me (Haysboro) a while back but I can't imagine it will be open long. Windows are so tinted that it looks closed even standing 5 feet in front. Took my kids there and they only have 1 milkshake size, and its way too big for kids.
Cheaper to go get blizzards from the nearby DQ which is saying something as blizzards cost an arm and leg these days.

Yeah...first off...respect for the Borough...I was there a long time.

But in my neighbourhood...look, having insanely tinted windows might well be for a good reason...but it looks sketchy as hell.

I'm not going in to a business with limo-tinted windows. Only God knows whats going on behind that glass. No. Thank. You.

I was super excited for a Smashburger joint to open in my hood- Been there a few times and it's not cheap, but solid food. Prices are on the wall in chalk, and it seems every time I go everything is a bit more

Burger and fries are so good there, love that place. A lot of places are moving to one size milkshakes, not sure the reason.

I'm the opposite, their shake isn't big enough for me, lol.

I went recently to Stonyslope, have you given that place a try?

I have and I do like it, part of why I was looking forward to the burger place was that I figured it would help drive business to Stonyslope so it can stay open!

Sure would be nice if some of our massive corporations that buy up naming rights for facilities in Calgary could maybe help them out.

This sucks but at the same time it is not unexpected. My kids did swimming lessons there because it is close to the house so we have a lot of experience going there. They have great programs and a warm pool. Also the bottle depot is one of the best in the city, imo. The programs working with disabled people will surely be missed. But that place was exceedingly run down and overdue for a major overhaul in order to stay alive.

There is a mis-placed "wisdom" floating around that suggests to fund only direct program costs and subsequently criticize or deny funds for any overhead costs (management, building r&M, rent, insurance, building life-cycle replacement, etc).

These are real costs that eventually catch up on an organization

The Shooting Edge has shutdown suddenly, effective immediately.

This is not good news. My son's high school uses Vecova for their gym classes.

In what capacity?

Dont get me wrong, I think Vecova closing is awful, they're a great organization, I just dont see how they apply to a high school?
