Not sure what you're arguing. I agree that players can improve in other ways and be just as valuable in later years. But offensively, most top producers are most productive in their early 20s

More goaltending woes?

(Did they not reclaim Forsberg from waivers?)

But yeah, generally they do the opposite of what most people would consider the right thing to do.
Ference was brought in to provide leadership. It was a good idea. But in typical Oiler fashion, they take a short cut or the easy answer/way.

After they realized they spoiled 3 #1 picks by leaving the keys on the table and thinking their talent would enable self development they realize they lacked structure.

Making Ference Captain was a day late and a dollar short. When he got injured/broke down it made his leadership harder to relate to.

Not arguing anything, except that the elite players seem to go on a lot longer at a very high level.

Pretty sure they overpaid for Ference as well. Which is funny, considering he probably would've taken the hometown discount.

Forsberg was just put on waivers today, so if they put in a claim, they won't find out if they got him until tomorrow morning.

Did Kostinem get hurt last night, or is Smith joining Neal on the COVID sick list?

Smith and Neal are best friends so I wouldn't be surprised if Smith is going into Covid protocol. Wonder if Smith was supposed to start tonight.

Could also be Kostinem's glove has gone to LTIR.

Is it just me or did Edmonton go over the top in terms of advertising at Rogers Place? It just seems really in your face and obnoxious. The Rogers 5G banner on the glass drives me crazy and it seems like they have more ads than any other rink.

amazing that two players that don't play together account for all the points

Oilers are so bad 5 on 5. The team isn't going anywhere.

This is one of my favourite items of hockey memorabilia. I laughed out loud when I received it in the mail (free trail), and knew I had to keep it.

Spoiler!

If the stars align and he goes to a south beach super team, he still won’t be.
