that'll probably be as good a list as any "serious" attempt. honestly the 2013 prediction actually works better as a list of top 10 busts/failed expectations than it does for top ranked players. let's hope this writer doesn't put Denis and Felix on his 2023 ranking predictions.

No further action to take place as per the USTA.
Have to say I think this is the right move. Mohamed is one of the best umps the tour has and was most certainly doing this from a place of making sure the match was not a farce. Fans and sponsors are putting up big money to see competition not someone moping around on court. Hopefully this is also a turning point for Kyrgios this year as I'd much rather watch him play motivated tennis than players lilke Herbert.

By all accounts he's well liked off the court by most players (maybe not Tsitsipas) and it's not easy being on tour, away from family and friends 11 months of the year. Many people handle things the wrong way and Krygios certainly is one of those people.
At some point Fed and everyone else knows that he will snap out of it. Until then, I guess you just deal with the handful of events where he's completely bonkers and enjoy watching him play the rest at a pretty high level.

On a side note, does Mary Joe Fernandez ever age, she looks the same as she did when she was playing on the WTA tour?

Kachanov is no slouch, should be a great match today against Nadal. Just like there recent match at the Rogers Cup showed Nadal has to be at his best to move on.

I'd still be surprised if he is even able to take a set off Nadal. He's a hot player but he's certainly not a world beater and hasn't really beat anyone of note this season.

Wang/Svitolina is a good match. Amazed that Wang has this much energy. She won Asian Games gold in Jakarta last Thursday.

Just caught the last game of Svitolina / Wang and... ouch. Break to get back on serve and then immediately broken at love to lose the match. That's gotta hurt.
Denis is up next. Probably his last match of the tourney.

Will need to up his level of play substantially to have any chance.

He was getting his racket on everything there, getting into some points. But his return game isn't the concern.
EDIT: If his first serve gets in he pretty much wins the point.

Wow, breaks the unbreakable giant in his second service game. Of course, now he must consolidate it.

God I love that point. Draw him in with the backhand slice and then pound the cross-court pass. Perfection.

So far it looks like mom scouted Anderson perfectly. Denis isn't playing the smash everything kind of game that has gotten him into trouble the last few matches. Nice to see some off speed shots that force Anderson to generate his own pace, which is going to result in many errors.
