Mario Kart piques my interest, but the rest of the launch titles really aren't doing it for me.

I've played a lot of these games before on either a Nintendo or some other console!

nothing too exciting for me either...I don't really play games on the go so getting worse versions of something like Elden Ring or Cyberpunk is nothing special, especially for that price.

I signed up for the Nintendo launch offer, but $700? Ya, not sure I'll go ahead with it.

Zelda games to me are probably worth it to replay in 4K at some point, and if they have performance updates for Pokemon Violet I'd actually play that game.

For me, it's finally being able to play an Xenoblade Chronicles game in 60fps and high definition. I've also been more particular about collecting physical Switch games, but I've always bought the PS5 versions because they are superior. Now at least I can get the Switch version and not have a significant downgrade in performance.

I have a dusty ROG Ally that I'll probably use for multi platform games that I want to play in that form factor.

When I think of how much additional value some my PC games have delivered even years after buying them, this paid upgrade business to unlock faster framerates and better resolutions on NSW games running on NSW2 rubs me raw.

Plus, in a year or two the library will be so much better and we'll get the cooler special editions.

In the meantime, my NSW will run the games I own just fine.

I wonder if it'll actually be cheaper in Canada after tariffs jack up the US Switch 2 prices.

Not so sure about that...the PS5 still far more powerful

For me, I mainly play JRPGs like the Trails series and a lot of the HD remakes of pixel games. So they don't take up too much power, but I just want it run those the same on Switch 2 as the PS5.

The big games like the FF7 Remakes I'll always still get on the PS5 / PS6 for their performance.

I let myself get hyped up by the rumours that the direct would include an announcement for an FF9 remake. Between that not happening and Nintendo "Wii U"ing the Switch 2 I am sad.


Will I buy it? Yes. Will I buy it at launch? No.

Lol Nintendo is delaying Switch 2 preorders due to Trump's tariffs.

I assume the pricing and availability is subject to change considerably. They’re not going to want to take x amount of preorders at a price of $449 US when the price could end up substantially higher than that.

i was probably going to convince myself to get one, but then i saw 2-6.5 hrs of battery life. You kidding me? I'm not paying $700 for a console that has that. The Switch already has double that if not more. I'll wait for the updated version with a better battery

Brings me back to one of my gripes about the Switch: why isn’t there a version for people who never take it off the dock? Like the Switch Lite, but flipped. I imagine that’s a pretty decent chunk of users.
