New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said that offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will not be fired, although he is scheduled to interview for the Jacksonville head coaching job.

If Caldwell gets fired, rumor in Indy is that Jeff Fisher would be the leading candidate for the job with Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher as other possibilities.

I thought I heard from someone (maybe Lombardi) that Bill was basically out the last few years anyways and just stuck around to give his son more credibility by lending his name to the regime. Sort of a "they won't fire Chris if I am still "involved"" situation.

Considering the stories of how clueless Polian the Younger and the success that Bill had that seems to make some sense.

Those 3 names will be linked to EVERY HC job that comes open.

Yup I know......

Gruden and Cowher aren't linked nearly as much as Jeff Fisher though (to Indy).

Jeff fisher is a strong candidate for St. Louis job as well.

I'd be surprised to see Fisher go to St. Louis...they kept McDaniels and he had a run in with him I thought once.
I don't see Cower going anywhere....Gruden only in a dream situation in a place with nice weather.

Also interesting to see Hue Jackson's comments today, as it looks he indirectly want more control and power over the team, and also indirectly throwing everyone else under the bus. Certainly taking advantage of the lack of leadership/direction above him with Davis' son a reluctant owner, and no GM to answer to. He made a big splash trade which blew up in his face, and doesn't have a draft pick until the 4th round this year. Not sure where he think's he qualified for being handed more power.

Why would Gruden a great HC btw leave this extemely high paying fun TV analyis job for a crap team like STL. Gruden is loving his TV gig.
If he comes back to the NFL he will pick the right opportunity I just don't see the Rams being it.

Saw this on CBSSports.com via AP's twitter, thought it was pretty funny. Evidently the surgery went well...

hahahah dirk "he must be a Sanchez fan LOL"...you probably have to wipe yourself clean after every completion Rodgers throws.
Watch some tape on Rodgers and see how often he throws a receiver open, or beast perfect coverage from a Db and gets the ball to his guys. Every QB is to some degree a product of the talent around them, Brees is throwing to an equally talented receving core in NO as QB has does that mean he is not as good? Is Brady not as good becuase Cassell as able to come in and play well in his absence?

Side note on Rodgers, McCarthy had him call most of the offensive plays for the first half and he produced 24 points so Rodgers affect on the game was not lost.

If this offseason goes by without Caldwell getting fired I will be really pissed off. Worst HC in the league and it's not even close

If Blackmon is there when the Browns pick would they have the balls to stick with Colt and give him a weapon.
