Do it Conroy. Bring it home.
What it is? Who knows.
But do it.

Steve Perry sings. Cory Perry signs.

LA has stockpiled a few 2nd round picks while trading out veteran players in the last 2 days. Strange in some ways because they should still be pushing for a playoff spot but I think it will make sense if they flip the picks for replacement help. What they have had was not working so maybe they will package a 1st + 2nd + 2nd to bring in a big fish. Too bad Kadri has them on his NTC because I would take that kind of package for him.

I think Trocheck is still holding things up for Kadri talks to get serious.

Which is another example of why you should always take reports in the days before the trade deadline with a huge grain of salt.

It is Coleman to Dallas retained or nothing. They still have the space to do it and a 2026 2nd, 2027 1st. Nill bargains hard though so not sure it gets done.
My guess is 2026 2nd + Bertucci

I think Kadri and Coleman are still Flames tomorrow. To be fair I've always thought that, the Weegar trade feels like a crime of opportunity more than anything. We couldn't pass up three delicious 2nds that's a good deal

How does Conroy not know that ownership won't retain or the price of retention and it feels like we are left scrambling at the end here.....when we have had more time/notice than most other teams who are later at the selling table?
*frustrated* but hoping to eat my words. If this is an experience thing for Conroy - then what are Maloney and Nonis here for?

Are the board insiders so quiet today because they are busy chasing stuff down or because there is nothing happening in Calgary to chase down?

I honestly think the management clamped down on leaks, after the Weegar trade that no one had rumored.

If we retain Coleman 50%, I'd want Dallas' 2027 1st. Maybe make it Dallas 2026 2nd, becomes a 2027 1st if the Stars make it to Conf. Finals in 2026 OR 2027. If they don't in either year, then it's a 2026 2nd and 2029 2nd + prospect like Bertucci.

Sure hope that's the reason. The leaks around this management team have been problematic, even embarrassing at times. I think they've done a good job in many respects, but circus feel at times and it needs to get clamped down with more clear control and especially control around messaging.

You're saying Conroy is unaware of what Flames ownership has approved?
Don't think that likely.
Flames are playing chicken with x number of teams to see if they can get Kadri traded without retention, which would up the offers to move Coleman with retention.
They've had this game plan for weeks and they're seeing it through.
Is that fact? Nope. Don't know but it's where I see it.

in case it hasn't been mentioned, according to Seravalli, Kadri's no trade list is mostly non-playoff teams

100%, SN has much better analysis and even entertainment value. I’ve been flipping to TSN just trying to catch the insiders.
TSN has bits that are good with the better analysts but they keep repeating overviews of teams situations. They keep showing a graphic of how many trades there were in different blocks of hours last year and it’s starting to grind my gears.

There are still some quiet teams out there. I'd expect Seattle, Carolina, Detroit, Montreal, Boston and the Islanders to all make a move before the deadline. I can't see Detroit going through another trade deadline without adding a few more pieces, especially after last year.
